Always checking in this spot. Never betting here with only 1 board. When it gets back to you I'm calling. You might be able to use your spade blocker on other board if you get a safe card on the one you have top set on on turn. Any AKQJ964 I would consider cards to pot if you also got a spade on other board. Also on the other board an A or 3 or the case 9 are cards to bet if you get a safe card on the board you have the 999 on. Anything else I'm checking and evaluating.
Pot, maybe btn will fold or at least we create a side pot with the weaker of the two ranges.
Without reading any responses, I probably would’ve bet but check calling is fine too. Neither fish is fold if you repot.
It's ok to lead OOP without a lock on Flop 1 and limited equity on Flop 2?
I don't like leading too much for the standard reasons, dynamic boards, OOP, still some stack left to play.
Check-raising can lead to some good outcomes if opponents are bad. If we manage to get it HU vs. a lower set on our board or 654x, we are in good shape.
We don't gain much if we check-raise, push the button out and get it in vs MP with something like 88xx. Then we are actually a slight underdog heads up and 'wasted' our As potential.
I agree with Bulltexas: play check call and keep it multiway. We can then very credibly represent the nut flush on a bottom spade turn and also make good plays on other cards (agree with Bulltexas' examples). That's certainly what I would do against decent players.
Against fish, the 'simple' check raise gives us less headache and can work well, too. Also, with the Ac instead of As, the check raise would be better, because we now have some more equity against 88xx (BDFD) and do not waste the future nut flush blocker potential.
I don't lead here, but I rarely do in DBBPs. We in no way have a lock on one board and we have diddly on the other. Check/call is good.
