Movie Quizz II - NO RESEARCH

How good is your movie knowledge?
Give me a list (without doing any research) of an actor/actress and their home state or country (state for USA, country for everyone else).
Make the list as long or short as you like.
Guessing is OK - no need to know for sure.
Every actor/actress can only be entered once (no putting Bess Flowers on every state & country!).
Every state/country can be only entered once.
Most total movies with correct pairings wins.
We'll use current country (example: born in Moscow = Russia not USSR).
We assume xander biscuits will win but let's give him a run for his money!

Better send entries by message so others can't see them.
I won't look at any entries until mine is done.
Ends the same as the other Movie Quizz: 17th at midnight Pacific (Las Vegas) Time.

Let's make the U.K. 4 countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland

"home" means where they were born

I'll play, but I'm unlikely to win. I have no clue about what states people were born in.

How are we defining actor? 1 acting credit on imdb or something else?

Oh good! I forgot that you're from the U.K. but I'm not from the USA either and I do know a few. The rest I'll guess.
In fact, I might know where Bess Flowers is from but I'm not sure so I'm going with someone else from there.

Remember, it's total number of movies that wins. If you say Sidney James/Jamaica and that's right (I don't think it is) you get all his movies (must be 100s).
I was hoping Letterboxd would tell us number of acting credits but they don't. They include documentary appearances.
I guess we'll use IMDB and remove all TV and shorts and music videos etc to get the # of acting/movie credits. I hope most answers are wrong!
I did figure out a few because they are famous for other things but also acted. I know where they are from because of their other field of expertise.

I'll call it a day - enough head scratching.
I've made 57 entries (known & guesses).
I'll go through them and let you know how many correct I got. That'll give you a number to shoot for. I won't be making any changes.

It turns out I got 36 correct and 21 wrong.
I confused Jack Starrett and Charles Starrett.
The actor whom I thought was Australian was really from..........
Big wins: I got Bette Davis & John Wayne correct on hunches.
My hunch on where Bess Flowers was from was correct but I did not pick her. I hope my 36 right will be good enough without her 700+ credits.

Entries close at midnight Pacific (Las Vegas) time so you've got more than 12 hours left to enter.

In

I don't feel good about my entry for lots of reasons.

Way too many guesses. There are only a few Americans I know the state of and most of thise are either from the same state or are not prolific actors.

Way too many people who are not actors in my list. Hoping to snag 1 credit here or there, but it's slim pickings.

Also I do not like the order of my list as it was made in a hurry. It is not alphabetical, geographical or in any sensible order whatsoever.

Long story short, I enjoyed doing this, but don't like my chances.

Just thought of 2 more reasons I'm not in love with my entry:

- Horrific spelling/auto correct errors not corrected.

-Conflating birthplace and heritage

US biased quiz is biased

xander biscuits entry is in
I count 40 correct and 24 incorrect
We had 17 both correct. xander won 9-7 with 1 tie (same pick)
The closest contest was Sweden: xander won 116-114
Of course, we have to remove all the non-movies to get a final score.

Still more than 9 hours to get your entry in.

Spelling doesn't count because I'd be in big trouble if it did. I had that Irish fellow driving a Japanese car!
Also, won Japan because I picked someone not remotely Japanese (but born there).

I bet I won Swaziland...

I was thinking about your Japan/not Japan clue. It rang such a bell.

Is it:

ODH?

lmao I been spending way too much time thinking about this

I'm high

I'm from USA, but don't worry I'm stupid, like all Americans. and my lists of states is really short.

right now I think I'm at 11 states and 16 countries, and some guesses are in there... and I doubt i'll get much more, if any.

I bet I won Swaziland...

Nope.
I had to disallow that because there is no such place as Swaziland.
It is called Eritrea!

You may want to appeal this one to the POG commissioner as it such a close call.

Yes, but I think her sister would also qualify.

Swaziland is called Eswatini in a lot of places. Eritrea is a completely different country. I appeal.
