Let's talk about Stream and buy mountains of games

I thought we might like to have a Steam offers catch-all thread, and maybe even any general discussion about the service

Back bingeing on one of my favourite roguelite drugs -

For when even Vampire Survivors feels too mentally taxing 😊

Anyone playing POE 2?

by rickroll

total war 3 kingdoms is free today only on epic - so much for the idea of a productive january for me

made it about 15 minutes before deciding the game sucked

Currently playing AC: Shadows, Expedition 33, and Kingdom Come 2. Need to beat at least one of them before next month.

I saw this in my feed on X and am kind of impressed. Probably buying this guy.

It's a bit fun, but not a complete game yet. What it mostly lacks is purpose.

I take this back.

Super Polygon Grand Prix is an awesome little game. They made the racing tighter and more interesting, and added a championship mode.

I also played it in a better state of mind 😀 which always helps when grading these games.

Not steam. Switch 2 - Mario Tennis FeverI give it a 9.5/10 and only deduct points because the story mode is lacking in length. The core mechanic (tennis!) is the next step from Pong --> Virtua Tennis 2 --> Mario Tennis 64imo. It is like 64 but on Steroids! Online play is strong, it looks phenomenal and the ball moves really nicely. There's tons of stuff to unlock, and ways to c

Bumping this to a 10/10 review.

When you beat The Towers, it unlocks a list of 100 challenges...

The story mode couldn't matter less.

I've been sucking. So I played a few matches vs the CPU on Pro. I learned something, And then started whooping ass online for a bit.

The skill and meta in this game is strong.

The fun is next level.

Easy 10.

looks fun

Dropped Frames had the Marketing Director for Crimson Desert on the latest episode. It's a pretty interesting watch/listen if you're into that kind of thing.

I'm liking Nioh 3 a lot more than Nioh, which I didn't finish. One reason is the auto equip armour function. I hated spending so much time swapping out marginally more effective armour pieces. The consensus seems to be that Nioh 3 is easier than its predecessors, which I find welcome.

It is also refreshing to play a soulslike which doesn't force you to live with your bad choices. Quite the opposite - every aspect of Nioh 3's systems is geared towards: "do whatever you like. If you screw up, no problem."

Side-scroller souls like/metroidvania RPG. I'm enjoying it even though I'm terrible at these games. Demo is available on Steam.

Pretty disappointed in marathon server slam. Ty Bungie for having the open beta and saving me $40. Was really hoping for something to replace arc raiders as my normal default game.

Watched a few streamers playing Marathon and that was more than enough for me - nothing there that made me want to try it.

Thinking about trying Arc Raiders eventually, but I just can't kick my Tarkov-addiction. I don't think I've ever played a game that is so bad yet so awesome.

i saw people streaming the early access and it looks like fun. i've never played the original, but am a fan of balatro. and i enjoyed magic cards 30 years ago. perhaps i shall get this.

I'd definitely give the original a go. This just looks like more of the same, which is no bad thing.

It's no where near as deep as Magic, but like Magic, I think you really need to play for while it to get the complexities. Hard to get that from just watching someone else play a bit.

But sts2 has CO-OP.

Yeh that is cool, but I'm a lone wolf...Awoo!

and have no friends.

i've done 6 runs of STS and it's a blast. slowly getting better i guess, im able to get to the boss of act 2.

Been play Slay the Spire 2. Not a huge fan of the new characters, hopefully they'll improve when I grind out some more cards for them.

I have felt the same so far. Runs with Necromancer in particular are just very slow and drawn out.

I'm an absolute sucker for any type of summoner in any game, so am hoping at some point being able to pull out a decent build.

The Regent really baffles me. No idea what the strategy is...

STS - i finally made it to the boss of act 3. i had the ironclad guy, and a relic that allowed me to keep my cards at the end of the hand which was a game changer. had lots of power but almost no defense and it cost me :(

I also have suffered poorly with Regent. Need more playtime with him.

I think you should skip the first StS if you're interested in #2. #2 is mostly the same but more. That said I've got 800 hours in the first StS, mostly due to the tons of mods that are available for it.

Got hooked on puzzle game,

, after watching a bit of the Cracking the Cryptic guys streaming it.

Started yesterday, decided to do "just one more puzzle", now I'm 300+ deep...
