Oh. Never mind. I figured out why they switched from 4/8 limit to 5/10 limit. Why do casinos do anything? To make more money. Not only does the slightly higher limit reduce pots not raked at the max, but since they take rake when the pots breaks the 10% threshold, that also helps them rake more. They take rake (and promotion funds) when the pot hits $10 (1+1 taken from th
$5/10 is also a one-chip game which is exponentially speedier (which means more hands which means more rake).
Atleast your better off playing here than that ****hole in Uncasville
The slot ticket redemption machines now spits out five $20 bills as your first hundred.
So $220 ticket is a $100 bill and six 20's. :(
$180 is just Nine 20's... ugg.
I guess waaaay too many people lately have been breaking the 100s down into 20's after they get their $, thus holding up the line?
People are more likely to gamble their winnings if the denominations are smaller.
Anyone know what the March 2025 promos are? Don't see them updated on Bravo yet.
Thanks.
Does anyone know what the promotions are this month? It is almost noon on 3/1 and they are still not on Bravo.

This is disappointing. This is obviously an attempt to make more money. This is a poker room that will try new things to see how they work. They've tried lots of different promotions - some worked better than others to bring more players into the room. They tried to switch 4/8 LHE to 5/10 to get more rake, but switched back a short while later - I'm guessing due to less players showing up. If people keep showing up to play games with $6+3 rake, they'll keep it, but if this drives too many players away, they've shown they will re-evaluate decisions. We'll see.
2025 win/loss is available online
Live now has a virginia location
301 Wagner Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805
a little south of richmond
Yes, the one in Petersburg opens soon, but as far as I know, has NO poker games at that time. Will they offer real poker down the road? I have no idea, but hope they do. If that comes to pass, we will want to create a new thread for that. For now, I will see you all at the MAPO in a few days. I am starting with the Super Seniors on Tue, staying through the Main Event. Cheers!!
Restaurant week starts this Sunday (1/18)
In the link is a graph of the participating Live restaurants and prices for their 3 course meals

Fall 2027, 22 tables
Does the 10/20 big O is pot limit?
What is the rake / minimum-maximum buy in?
Do you guys enjoy the place?
Md Live is replacing Morty's sandwich place (next to smoking section at the back of casino) with a Vietnamese restaurant.

That makes 3 Asian restaurants now: Luk fu, Korean BBQ, and now the Vietnamese place.
I can see the Korean BBQ place closing within a year because of this.
Luk Fu should be fine because it's owned by Md Live. (Rent is free?)
Hotel elevator security has been improved:
Key card now only lights up your floor. You can no longer press for other floors (ie: for strangers with their hands full)
Are you getting reasonable hotel rates at live?
