Why?
Why is every thread in this forum in the godawful "new" format? It sucks balls! I can't commit to those threads 😀

Agreed. Same for me. I just figured Im dumb and lazy and it can be changed but maybe im wrong
I agree, I like the old formatting much better.
I avoid the new format as much as possible.
Agreed. The new format sucks and is full of bugs so it doesn't even work right half the time.

The site literally flips me back and forth from new to old formats and trying to send a private message to anyone is a complete joke.
Not all change is for the better - I wish they would learn that here
I agree. I am excited to read about the upcoming WSOP and summer in general, but having to do it in the new format is painful.

Correct. I have to relog in on that new format, so I just close the thread immediately.
Same, not a fan of it. Also, it doesn't give a great indicator to the user that their post has been submitted/posted, so people just mash the post button. You will see in a lot of those new threads a single post repeated multiple times in a row.
the new forum software is far worse than the old in a number of important ways, including, but not limited to:
- posting comments or basically doing anything from mobile
- multi-quoting
- finding updates to threads you're following
- navigating threads
otherwise, the new software is great!
As a software engineer/system designer basically my whole life I just don't get it. Why would anyone have two different versions of the same software running at the same time?
My guess is that when they tried to move forward they realized they would have lost a majority of their posters (people who post) so they kept the old system live so people like us wouldn't leave.
Like others have said, it is harder to know which of those threads I have posted in, I get logged out in that new system frequently and virtually never in this system, and editing a post is more difficult than in this system (I think you have to click on the "..." button and then choose to edit).
On the bright side, most new threads seem to be in this system. At least in the forums I care about.
