I don't endorse Bushnell's actions. He obviously had a good heart, but he completely failed as a soldier, even though he was a veteran of the U.S. military. I think he must have missed the day in the military when they explain you are supposed to kill the enemy, not yourself.

Neocons don't self identify. They know their views, their true views, are reprehensible and they pose as all kinds of politicos. This is really why they hate Trump, who has the balls to actually carry out the neocon agenda. It's not what Trump does - which they love - it's that he isn't willing to play the charade that gratifies their moral vanity. But at the end of the day you are what you do, not what you fantasize. If you vote Democrat (or Republican), you are a neocon in the only meaningful sense of the word.

While their rhetoric often indicates otherwise, it is absolutely true that AOC and Cenk Uygur are devoted neocons. You will notice patterns in the timing of what they say. They will speak out against some neocon atrocity only after the fact, when nothing can be done about it. They will talk about race and social justice, common issues in the neocon trick bag, because they know there is very little actionable which can be done there. They do this to create a false sense of conflict between the red and the blue. What they won't do is press their rhetorical agenda in congress or support real socialist candidates, and that's the proof that they are neocons. Their real purpose is to undermine any actual progressive action and by doing so enhance their careers and get money from the establishment.

Bernie? Bernie cooperates with empire, he just thinks the spoils should be divided up more equitably. He's more like a throwback new deal democrat than a neocon but, in effect, maybe outside of his cognizance, he functions in the same way and AOC and Cenk which is to harness the radical and progressive energy behind very popular policies (like medicare for all or affordable housing) and give it over to the democrat party machine which will proceed to release it into the ether, like a fart. In the era of the Gaza genocide, it is safe to say that anyone who supports the Democratic party is effectively a neocon.

In our political landscape? I guess I would call it delusional land. Most every other political philosophy concedes the beyond obvious fact that big states are here to stay, no matter for what ends they are used. The establishment neocons want the big state for to be big brother, for imperialism, extractive capital enhancement, and generally for managing us like human drones on a hidden plantation that looks like a free society. The so called paleo conservatives want big government for border security, law enforcement, and prisons to warehouse all the brown people if they get it in their heads that they deserve the same opportunities as wASPs - and to do stuff like a fugitive act except for women who exercised control over their own bodies and got an abortion. The progressives want a big government to provide the baseline security and stability for people to compete on a more level playing ground and to make sure corporations and insanely wealthy individuals don't corrupt our government until our society is like Pottersville except without all its warmth and community.

The libertarians...what are they thinking? We're going to get rid of all the government functions that work and people rely on? And why would we do that? because of some warped, idiotically abbreviated conception of freedom which is clearly born out of the type of over simplification always seen in the feeble minded? These are people who cannot grasp that most any middle schooler can defeat them with the same simple question they've never been able to answer satisfactorily - "what about roads?".

Yeah. Sometimes I feel like socialists and communists are the only people who realize that everything we are going through is just the same thing playing out over centuries, over and over again.

Even Milton Friedman advocated for a so-called Negative Income Tax.
