USA Goes to War Against Iran
Time for a dedicated thread to the war.
How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?
.
Why are you so confident that the guy who changed the name of the Defense Department to the Department of War and bombed civilians in international waters and kidnapped a leader of a sovereign nation would be above bombing a school?
You're reading more into what I said than I meant.
I meant military chain of command, not from Trump down. I think of POTUS is above that.

Isn't Trump the top of the military chain of command? Either way, 33 civilian areas were hit including up to 9 hospitals and 1 school. They can't all be mistakes, no? Why do you think the military in context of a war wouldn't resort to killing civilians?
wow 1 example!!! They also had to give them insane amount of drugs and gaslighting and even then it was a volunteer force where 0.0001% of the population signed up for
I think the soldiers who threw themselves on the grenade or the equivalent along with all of them who were killed because they didn't run away when they could have but rather stayed with their wounded or even dead comrades--suffices.
ICE is killing American civilians in the streets. Foreign civilians are obviously fair game.

For the same reason I think if Iran's military assets were away from civilians, there wouldn't be much by way of civilian casualties.

I'm not too steeped in military conflicts, but I can't think of a single large-scale conflict that didn't include wasting civilian lives.

And what reason would that be?
Israel now reportedly dropping bombs directly from above around Tehran, which means air defenses have led a short and dramatic life. It will be a very bad time to be an Iranian soldier stationed at missile launch sites.

I wonder if it's less the ability in terms of SAMs and more the inability to communicate.
They rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War, then claim their wars are defensive operations.
They're still called dept of Defence by non American news outlets
God forbid we don't wake up tomorrow and find out China attacked Taiwan, Congress declared war and the draft notices are in the mail.
Thx for important correction. They pretended to rename it with a big ceremony and plaques.
What are the conditions under which you would consider that statement proven false?
Seems like we are. Prove that statement is false because "Trust me, bro, we wouldn't do that" isn't really cutting it.
Ok, if you take the opposing position to my claim. I don't debate skeptics
Me: if Iran's military assets were away from civilians, there wouldn't be much by way of civilian casualties.

US tanker 'on fire and spilling oil into the sea' as Iran issues chilling 5-word warning
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to hit a U.S. oil tanker in the northern part of the Gulf as the war brings global oil supplies through the all-important Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC had warned that any vessels, military or commercial, linked to the U.S., Israel or supporting European countries will not be allowed to pass through the Strait, the narrow body of water between Iran and Oman - with "If they are observed, they will certainly be hit," the IRGC said in its statemen
Not sure if there's a connection but amazon seems to be sorta not working.
