Anyone know a good message board to get into day trading?

What would be the equivlate of 2p2 for day trading?

Reddit has some good threads but similar to poker you need to carve your own path. These forums are ok for poker knowledge but if you want to win at a high level you can't take advice on here. I think there's a lot of ways to make money in poker, stocks, etc but the big winners aren't going to tell you how they do it and even if they did you probably wouldn't understand.

During pandemic QVC hit almost $700.

Down to $3 right now on bk fears.

When the Internet finally gets around to Internetting you...was shocked to discover they hadn't filed a while back tbh. Talk about an easy trade missed.

Are you seriously not accounting for the 1 for 50 reverse split on May 23, 2025?

It is accounted for. QVC is now a $30 million market cap firm.

According to Google Finance, and other fin'l sources, it used to be worth $6 Billion ~5 years ago which also passes the eye test for someone who's been doing this for decades.

In fact, it was worth nearly $1500 at it's peak just over 10 years ago. Which is also accounting for the massive reverse stock split since then.

1500 to 3.41 is the identical drop as 30 to $0.068 or thereabouts.

VRT is now my 5th largest position after another blowout quarter:

'Organically, fourth quarter orders were up 152% year-over-year and up 117% sequentially. Very strong, all regions or markets. Trailing 12-month organic orders growth was 81% and would be even higher if we included our recent acquisitions. Our book-to-bill ratio was 2.9x. Our backlog stands at $15 billion, more than double last year's.

Q4 organic net sales were up 19%, primarily driven by remarkable strength in the Americas, which grew 46% organically. APAC was down 9% and EMEA down 14%. Q4 adjusted operating margin was 23.2%, up 170 bps from Q4, '24. Adjusted operating profit was $668 million, and was up 33% from prior year.'

You said it hit nearly $700 in the pandemic (2020'ish to 2023'ish) when it never traded at nearly $700 in the pandemic. The stock price never traded at $700 or anywhere near $700 in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.

The reason for that is that Google Finance will adjust the graph itself after a reverse split, a 1 for 50 reverse split in this case.

Type the following into a Google search: "what happens to the stock price graph on google finance adjusted after a reverse split"

I'll search for you, here are the results:

After a reverse split, the stock price graph on Google Finance is adjusted retroactively to show a higher historical share price and lower volume, maintaining a smooth, continuous chart that reflects current ownership proportions rather than past prices. The graph does not show a sharp, artificial jump, but instead makes the entire history appear as if the split occurred from the beginning.
Retroactive Adjustment: Historical price points before the reverse split date are divided by the split ratio (e.g., in a 1-for-10 reverse split, historical prices are multiplied by 10).
Smoothed Chart: This method ensures that the price graph is comparable, showing performance relative to the new, consolidated share structure.
Volume Changes: Historical daily trading volume on the chart will also be adjusted downwards to reflect the lower number of shares, often making the stock appear less liquid in the past than it actually was.
Purpose: This adjustment is designed to show accurate technical analysis, preventing a false, massive, non-economic spike in the chart's historical performance.
Essentially, a $1 stock that underwent a 1-for-10 reverse split will appear as a $10 stock on the graph even for dates five years in the past.

The bolded line at the bottom is telling you what is occurring in the graph on Google Finance.

What looks like a $700 price isn't what it traded for back in the pandemic. Nobody was trading QVCGA for nearly $700 in the pandemic.

I trimmed it a little today because it just got too big with that monster move. Still have plenty 😀

'Foreign purchases of US financial assets accelerated in 2025, led by demand for stocks and US Treasuries, data on Wednesday showed — marking a sharp rebuttal of the “Sell America” narrative that’s become a regular feature of discussion among market participants.

Overseas investors bought a net $1.55 trillion of long-term US financial assets in 2025,
data released by the Treasury Department on Wednesday showed. That’s up from a net $1.18 trillion of purchases the previous year. Of that total, $658.5 billion went into equities and $442.7 billion to Treasury notes and bonds.' ~BBG

Trimmed 8.5% of my WMT today, added to PLTR which is a smaller position for me.

Hope everyone is sticking with the ags.

$TMDX beats again today, up 11% incl AH, now my #8 position.

Here's what I wrote last May 8th:
'TMDX just crushed the numbers today, a top 15 position for me, still looks highly undervalued esp compared to recent M/A deals and public comps given their growth rate and margins....and I added shares....'

It went from 93 to $111 close the next day, so 150/111 is 35% gain in 9 months.

Not bad.

NVDA is such a machine, up 5% on the day now, still my #3 position.

Seems like the energy squeeze is on. Have lots of cnq, which is pretty much the only thing ripping for me.

Interesting situation in South Korea for example where they only have a weeks worth of lng. South Korea supplies something like 80% of HBM chips for ai

Dumped half of my SLV position this week at around 70.5 . Too early? Who cares my entry was around 20ish and I'll just hang onto the other half.

Also bought a small NFLX call options position this week (Mar 100 calls). Pure speculation and expect them to expire worthless. Unless they don't 😀

Those NFLX calls went south as soon as I bought them at least until last week. Bailed today for a 3X profit. Happy just to get out alive even though it was a tiny speculation.

Still have that half of my silver. Woulda dumped it at 100+ but was on vacation during that spike. Have a feeling its headed to 50ish but I'll hang on just in case the tinfoil hatters are right 😀

I think the reality of logistics around metals has soured many investors right as increasing global conflict has made those logistics even more dicey

I'm looking to get into day trading to make some money is it possible?

Yep, you can make a ton with day trading. I’ve been trading FX derivatives, which are currently among the most profitable instruments to trade right now.

I wouldn’t really rely on Reddit though—it’s pretty much full of nonsense and beginners.

It's like deja vu all over again! I basically haven't day traded since covid (ie retired!) but couldn't stay away this week. CL was my baby back in the day and this week was 100% awesome! My day trading approach revolves around volatility and oh boy did CL have that this week. CL from 2007 to 2009 was pure heaven and this week was just like that when we had $4+ ranges every day. Gotta get it when its there! Forcing when it isn't there? Nah, that sucks! But picking up free money when its laying on the floor is hard to pass up 😀

Trading is still very good these days, especially with some of the newer instruments that have come along. Back in 2007–2009 I was still in university, so I missed that CL era live. I started out with spot FX, but these days I make far more from FX derivatives.

Stock noob question - I am paper trading and bought a100,000 shares of PAVS on my margin account a couple months ago. PAVS did a 1 for 100 reverse share split, yet I still "own" 100,000 shares allowing me to sell them at current market price. Shouldn't my shares be diluted to 1,000 after the reverse share split?

After a 1-for-100 reverse split, your 100,000 shares should definitely be reduced to 1,000. The point of a reverse split is to decrease the number of shares, but the price per share goes up to balance it out.

It sounds like your broker might just be showing the old share count for now. That happens sometimes after a split, and it should update soon so you’ll see the correct number of shares (1,000).

But yeah, after the split, you should only have 1,000 shares, not 100,000.

By the way, have you tried real trading yet?

Will probably look to cut a few things at loss tomorrow and trim the CNQ on what looks to be a pretty big squeeze

I imagine the market tanking and oil prices rocketing up will lead the administration to find a quick exit out of the Iran thing but if it drags on there could be some pretty severe consequences, imo

You will eventually lose all your money trying to day trade, not to mention the tax consequences for US investors.

Derivatives you will lose it even faster, it's a negative-sum game after bid-offer spread, fees, taxes, et al. You're not better than the professional traders at big Wall St banks who see the flows in real time and have better data and analytics and execution than you do.

If you think you can, you have been Fooled By Randomness.

Happy about that obvs.

Bot AVGO after earnings, keeps going up. Another blowout report there also. Only a 65% position so far.

Didn't even take a day for the administration to position themselves to back out of this

How large of an impact is will this be?
