I think what is actually happening which would be fair to criticize Israel for is that the Trump organization isn't particularly organized and doesn't really have a coherent plan. Which is giving Israel wiggle room to pursue its own agenda, where Trump is always playing catch up.

But again, this seems at least as much of a Trump problem as an Israel one. If one partner in a joint operation is unorganized and has no plan, and the other is very organized and has clear objectives. Those are probably the objectives that are going to end up being pursued.

I agree that a fair criticism is Trump has no long term plan and really underestimated the will of religious fanatics. And for the Iranian regime there’s no option to surrender while they don’t care about their civilians. That makes for an impossible enemy to break.

Like... if the US intelligence is so bad that we can't rely on US intelligence agency reports that indicate Iran is at least 10 years away from an ICBM that can reach the US and so bad that they don't see a bunch of school girls going into a building every day, then perhaps the US shouldn't be attacking another country?

That being said, pretty much since the end of the Iraq-Iran war the GCC countries have generally worked within a framework it made more sense to manage the IRGC than to confront it. Due to the asymmetric nature of the IRGC being able to hurt them economically, while being indifferent to what happens to their own people/economy because of their nihilistic religious fundamentalism.

Now that the IRGC has actually attacked them, they have to decide whether they want to pursue going back to the status quo before the attacks, where there is a high likelihood of this happening again. Potentially much worse. Or whether they want to let things with the US/Israel play out.

From what I can tell, it seems the GCC are willing to let Israel/US continue to see how it plays out. In the hopes this leads to a genuine change in the status quo, with major reform or collapse of the IRGC. This is opposed to Europe, who wasn't threatened by the status quo, so is more motivated to go back to how things have been the last 47 years.

Are they? It sounds like there was a mistake that hit one school that used to be a military base. What other schools have they bombed?

You really think there is no chance that the serious degradation of the regime will lead to downstream positive outcomes, for the Iranian people or the world at large? Even if we can't anticipate today what exactly those outcomes will be?

At some point there will be a ceasefire, and the regime will be tremendously weakened and demoralized at all levels. And the govt will be seen as completely illegitimate, as everyone knows the IRGC propped up a street thug in a coma as the so called Supreme Leader, meaning there effectively is no Supreme Leader.

Now we cant say exactly if this will lead to collapse or reform; but I dont think we can say the chance of this happening is 0 either.

He could have just said "we'll go in, it'll take a week, no boots on the ground, the regime fill fall and you'll be the hero that brought down a regime that has been a problem since Jimmy Carter" and Trump was dumb enough to believe him.

And you certainly will disregard anything that comes from Iran despite pictures of Golestan Palace and Gandhi Hospital being destroyed.
