THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reac
He's 24, improving basically every event, top 25 in SG this year on tour, and one of the longest drivers.
Maybe he won't ever win, but this is a pretty extended heater if that is the case. He also has won on the KFT. Pedigree doesn't guarantee anything; Patrick Rodgers is a prime example of this.
Patrick Rodgers has earned 20 million dollars and been on tour for 12 years. Yellamaraju has played 7 events, never lead a tournament before and has 1 top 10. Pedigree matter's when you are talking about a golfer with very little PGA tour experience winning after he had a good week.
List of players in the last 2 seasons that won their first year on tour.
Dunlap- decorated amateur
Pavon- seasoned pro, almost a decade on the DP tour
Knapp- Good Amateur, qualified for the US open at 20
Matt McCarthy- Good college player, 3 win promotion from KFT
Karl Vilips- Won youth Olympics, southern Am, bunch of runner ups in big Am events
Potgieter- Won the British Am. at 17 years old and youngest winner on the KFT.
Such a wild course. I would love to play it. Any kind of number is out there on almost any hole.
BTW I’m saving these for this year’s inevitable Main Event late stages big stack meltdown (hi Krissy!).
Yella pulled out of Valspar lol. Guess he wasn’t used to high altitudes. His week was like the third world refugee man’s microcosm of JJ Spaun’s 2025 season. One and done.
Not a crazy leaderboard but very dense. Copperhead ain't easy.
As I post that Sneds finally breaks after bending, with a double on 12. Would have been a great story.
penge bending yet again under pressure
hitting piss missles into greenside bunker faces
Visiting my dear Sainted Mother and only have access to 1 TV. How did I ever function without 3? Guess MM takes priority over golf.
Good for Fitz. He may be kind of goofy but I like him and he's earned his stripes.
Lots of guys feel like really good candidates for majors this year, him included.
yup, also a Fitz fan

Yeah, and my point was Rodgers is just as decorated as many of these players you listed and hasn't won anything.
Will Yella win this year? Odds are against him, but it's not impossible. But your claim was he was never going to win. If Yella was 32 or something, I think you have a claim. But there are far better choices to make that claim who have ran hot for short periods of time recently like Paul Peterson or Jimmy Stanger because they are old, so they probably won't win on tour if their game has been so inconsistent to not be a tour staple at this point.
Wtf tiger?
Wtf indeed.
I've spent so much time defending tiger. He's clearly the goat both in terms of results and for what a single athlete has meant to a sport, but srsly - gfy tiger. There is no excuse anymore.
That's completely insane.

Yella shot a 65 today moving up the leaderboard
starting to think i should start cyber supporting this Yella fella with tokens of my internet appreciation
meanwhile waymo furiously rewiring circuit court judges with tiger bail money ample tip included
Thinking about it more. Golf is a weird individual sport where you are playing the course more than an opponent. Golfers can also play for a really long time and even though they are old they can still figure out a way to score and compete.
Tiger is the goat, goats in other sports are surrounded by teammates and can typically squeeze out a few more years by playing less minutes, being on a good team etc. Tiger has been trying to squeeze out a few more years with surgery's, apparently pills and whatever else. There's no organization, teammates, opposition, coach, etc saying you can't compete against these kids anymore because there's so many ways to score on a golf course. I think he is under and/or feels a lot of pressure to get healthy and compete again but maybe it's time he calls it quits, buys a sports team and starts fishing like Jordan, Brady, Gretzky and other goats have done. 50 is old and it can't be easy to try and get your body healthy enough to compete against the best golfers in the world after having the injuries Tiger has.

I just can't find a "poor tiger"-angle here. There are a lot of athletes who've competed without a team who still manages to not be wife-cheating, repeatedly drunk-driving *******s.
Also:
Wtf? That's just like... your opinion man...

He wasn't drunk driving yesterday. My point was eventually goats get put out to pasture because they are a detriment to the teams success. Golf doesn't have that.
Nah, scientific fact.
Well done Gary. Well done.
Fair play to Gary on the win, just watched his interview with the golf channel after his win. Wasn't really aware of what HyperVigilant was or at least never really thought about it but being on a golf course with thousands of people at times would be a pretty crazy thing to deal with and that's just on the golf course let alone your day to day life.
Love seeing Woodland win and a top six for Belly
SOON
how about the new Player Services Building?
the green jackets don't miss a beat, do they?
