NFL Offseason 2026
it's the most wonderful time of the year for pretend GMs - the NFL Offseason!
Sure the games are fun, but the 7 months of
Seems like the perfect franchise to nominate this change.
Because it works so well in the NBA and hasn't gotten surreally dumb at all.
how about they only allow the browns to do it
How the hell do you enforce that one Steelers?
Thats a bit much for Waddle btw but we're in that window where we have nix cheap for 2 years and a solid core. Isn't that the time to mortgage the future?
How the hell do you enforce that one Steelers?
Easy, the honor system.
5 of their own unrestricted free agents or all other teams?
Seems weird either way - whatβs the rationale?
To save teams from themselves from overpaying in FA?
Or is it protecting βdraft and developβ teams like Steelers from being overtaken in FA?
Either way it seems anti competitive which is both unAmerican but also very NFL
this Trent Williams news today confuses me. My assumption is that if the team chooses not to pay his Option bonus then it means he becomes a free agent. But that doesn't seem to be a part of any of the reporting of it
I realise it's probably moot because he might not want to leave and they will try to re-sign him, but you'd think it would get mentioned if it was true?
I briefed ChatGPT and it said this...which isn't super clear either
If an NFL team chooses not to pay an option bonus at the specified time, it generally doesn't automatically void the entire contract or allow the player to immediately become a free agent.
Instead, the consequences depend on the terms in the contract. Often, failing to pay an option bonus may result in the contract being terminated or considered voided, but this is not always automatic. The player may be released from the team, which could make him a free agent, but sometimes the team and player may need to negotiate or follow specific league protocols.
In many cases, if the contract is terminated due to non-payment of an option bonus, the player can then sign with another team as a free agent. But this process isn't universally automatic and depends on the contractual and legal details involved.
It's advisable to review the specific contract and consult with a legal expert for exact implications in a particular situation.
JSN 4/168-120
Very nice. Puka also very happy to see this. I wonder if he beats it?
JSN is worth every guaranteed dollar of that.
and smart business by the defending champs to lock him up early before Puka signs
in non-defending champ news, sounds like mr taytay has reupped (not prenupped) for another three with the chiefs with a rip cord after the first.
Look no further for positional value than watching the champs let their SB MVP RB walk for 3 years and $45/$29 while giving their star WR 4 for $168/$120.
Particularly in apparently the worst RB draft in more than a decade
no doubt sea is placing a lot of trust in zach sure-butnah picking up the slack
wouldn't you?
I was surprised they doubled down on letting KW go with Charbs tearing his ACL.
Also very interested to see how Kubiak does in Vegas and how Fleury does as his replacement.
looks like JSN will get 20 targets a game now.
As a former Cowboys fan, I had hopes that JSN would somehow make his way to Dallas based on his arm tattoo.
Lavonte David retiring after 14 years, all with the Buccs.
Is he a Hall of Famer?
He was never the best LB in the league, but I thought he was never worse than top 5 over most of his long career.
Better longevity and a better case than a guy like Kuechly, imo.

Yes, but will have to wait awhile I think.
