USA Goes to War Against Iran

Time for a dedicated thread to the war.

How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?

The US military knows it can't win a war it's pointlessly started so it wants to drag European countries in to share the blame for another "forever war".The missiles that it's alleged were fired by Iran that fell short of Diego Garcia were probably a false flag Israeli operation designed to provoke fear in Europe, if they were even fired in the first place. Iran has denied fi

Huh? Interesting!

The Iranians fired a missile at the Temple Mount the most wholly sight in the world. This is the sight of the first and second Temples. The second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 600 BI. This is also the future sight of the third Temple.

I don’t remember mongo’s grammar and spelling to be as awful as lozern’s.

Being low-paid is not inherently bad, in the sense that it’s relative to what that low pay can actually purchase. You’d rather be low-paid in a system where there’s an abundance of food than low-paid in a system where excess food is discouraged by seizure or prosecution. That tends to be where the hypothetically possible good of socialist reforms buck up against the proven reso

Maybe bur it's immaterial once the jobs evaporate

That's the point. We're not in disagreement

Maybe Marx missed the pace at which there would be new uses of labour in storing and redirecting. But as that comes to an end, capitalism comes to an end. Scarcity, if there is any, becomes more purely a political issue.

Okay, now let the government seize the foundational means of production Marx talked about - the land - and replace the well with it. The kings throttled the peasantry with land rights and the king's men are carrying on the tradition. Give the people the land and they can then throttle the businesses who use and misuse it for profits. Economies are grounded in the ground, not the stuff built a top it.

I thought al asqa was on the 1st and 2nd temple?
Either way I wouldn't shed a tear if the wailing wall, the Vatican and the Kaaba all got wiped off the map at the same time. Dumbass religions

This read like poetry.

It is but it shouldn’t be. I do agree these religions are nutty.

The Iran war has got to take the top spot for most Trumpy thing Trump has done. No planning, incompetent people in charge, flailing wildly on even just explaining what you're doing, could have just done nothing and been way better off etc got all his signatures on it. And despite the fact that he already started a war by the standards he holds others to with Iran in his first term, people who support him still somehow thought he would never do this.

Agree with you, of course they're social democrats ie capitalists.

But the USSR was so far removed from what Marx wrote about - the withering away of the state - that it's incorrect to call it a socialist state and socialists in the 70s and 80s spent a lot of time arguing with each other about whether it was state capitalism or a corrupt worker's state.

I agree but it's largely academic. People advocating for socialism don't really want all it entails and those opposed to it want some of what it provides. It's mostly just a rhetorical term anymore with all the identity / tribal politics.

I think we need our own labor party with a platform: a living wage for low-skill workers. Whatever economic mechanisms we use to get there are secondary.

Based on your other thread you are just as shitty a poker player as you are a poster as you are a person

Good luck with your next alt

we may not want all you say it entails. But that's not really our problem

I’m learning a new game. I’m not great at it yet. I did butcher that hand. I was in the process of editing that thread but the poster got to it too quickly. I apologize for my mistake.

Good luck dude

I have a serious question, that I am honestly not sure anyone in this forum has the knowledge base or the objectivity to answer. But I will give it a try anyways. Given their worldwide revolutionary ideology, their actions over the last 47 years (including but not limited to their role in formenting chaos and Civil Wars, supporting religious militias throughout the region, and working towards the destruction of Israel) and their projected actions moving forward;

What is the steel man argument for doing nothing about the IRGC and just "let it cook?" How do things not end in disaster following this recipe? Even if you assume they would have never actually gone nuclear, they would just enrich to 60% and use not going nuclear as leverage: between the missile and drone arsenals, militias, civil wars, threatening Israel and US forces in the region etc. things have been going bad for a real long time.

And that isn't even getting into their own internal dysfunction.

boy it sure is too bad we didn’t have a deal in place to halt nuclear production that could have prevented this pointless self-created war

It is objectively hilarious to listen to ****ing ******s like you try to whitesplain how all it this was totally required

1. According to your MAGA godking, we already obliterated Iran’s nuclear capability a few months ago
2. Solamani was assassinated in term 1 and nothing was done in response
3. When Israel hit Iran last year breaking the ceasefire, all Iran die in response was launch some token attempts Israel’s iron dome wiped out almost as if to say they have to save face but don’t want to escalate

In your ****ed up stupid as all hell mind what do you think is happening? Did you watch that Ali G movie and convince yourself that this failing state is desperately trying to ge a nuke so they can immediately launch it? At some point it couldn’t hurt to stop poisoning your brain listening to newsmax

boy it sure is too bad we didn’t have a deal in place to halt nuclear production that could have prevented this pointless self-created war

It sure seems like taking out Irans ability to launch and produce ballistic missiles is a good thing. Taking out Irans nuclear capabilities including producing a dirty bomb is good. Not letting Iran develop longer range missiles is good. Neutering the abilities of Irans proxies is good. Normalizing business relationships in the region is good. Neutering a big ally of China and Russia is good.

It’s best to do this before it’s too late and Iran can essentially take the whole world hostage. The rest of the world should be thanking the US and Israel for having the courage to take on this world threat.

Or we could just continue to kick the can down the road like we have done the past 47 years.

Now is the time. Trump is 100% correct despite what you hear on Al Jazeera.

Relax, paintrape

If these people had a nuke they would use it. They believe this war is gonna bring their Messiah and they will conquer the world. People like you underestimated the destruction the Nazis could cause. Your passivity was quickly walked on. You don’t want to be a Chamberlin. You want to be a Churchill like Bibi and Trump.

Well, the deal was a lot more than just “don’t complete the last step to build a bomb.” It had a lot of provisions that the IRGC mostly ignored.

Not taking the last step towards a bomb seems to have been a decision Khameni made for his own religious convictions, more than because the deal made it impossible.

And again, even assuming they didn’t build a bomb; between the revolutionary rhetoric, civil wars, militias, missiles, drones and attacking Israel and US troops: seems like the projection for the region was going to be a very bleak one if no one did anything.

Churchill warned about the Nazis as an existential threat to Europe in the 30s. He was always consistent that Britain should fight the Nazis and if Chamberlain had, he would have supported it. Trump has consistently lied about his opponents wanting an unnecessary war with Iran that he would oppose up to just two years ago leaving the country with 0 political will to fight Iran and an unwinnable situation.

This is very lazy TDS thinking. β€œNo planning”? Do you really think this? Not even a little bit?

This is no longer an β€œunnecessary” war. Iran was significantly weakened after the 12 day war. Israel was going to finish them off as they should. The US getting involved was absolutely necessary and correct. Much has changed since Trump opposed the war.
