THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reac

When his letters got no response, MacKenzie sliced his bill in half and then wrote these distraught words to the Georgia club.
“I am at the end of my tether, no one has paid me a cent since last June, and we have mortgaged everything. Can you possibly let me have five hundred dollars to keep us out of the poor house?”
It is thought that MacKenzie did eventually recover around $2,000 before he died, but that doesn’t seem much when you consider the recognition that Augusta National receives today.
It is arguably the most revered place where golf is played across the world, with the possible exception of St Andrews, and who designed that? Nature with a few digs from Old Tom Morris’ spade.
So it’s MacKenzie versus Nature, although many would say that nature was the greatest weapon in the medical man from the Yorkshire Dales’ armoury. He might have died unexpectedly and destitute, but his footprints in the world of golf have left the kind of indelible mark that will ensure that he’ll never be forgotten.
Seriously how does Cameron Smith qualify for the masters - riding on the back of his Open win is getting old. Min Woo Lee would run rings around him.
i'd probably add being a solid putter and the rust-on bogan curls
First and only player with all four rounds in the 60’s should be a lifetime exemption but obviously nothing else.
Interesting analysis:

Bryson was my preseason pick here, and Bridgeman is the obvious dark horse with the big win over Rory at Riviera (which seems like it happened three years ago now), but I decided to go with Xander when I realized he’s the only top contender without a built in Thursday morning narrative.
And can’t you just hear Jim Nantz saying after X birdies 13 on Sunday for his first share of the lead: “You know, Trevor, a win today by Schauffele not only would get him 3/4 of the way to the career Grand Slam, but 4/5 of the way to the career GOLDEN Slam, which obviously no one has ever done before or even had the opportunity to do” in his ‘I just may have figured out who the Zodiac was’ tone of voice?
Edit: Scottie also gets the Golden with a USO win.
I like X, Fitz, and MacIntyre a lot going into the Masters. Bob is somehow flying under the radar while playing some very good golf, I'm surprised he isn't >1.3 SG T2G.
So many good names possible to win next week.

I imagine Bob will be up there after this weekend. I kinda feel him for Els/Trevino multiple Openses/Masters heartache, but he certainly can win anywhere anytime.
Gun to head, of the 11 on that list I’d take Fitz. Probably.
Predicted Wednesday night this will be like Ollie’s second win—halfway through the afternoon, seven guys within five, and the winner’s not one of them.
the prodigy Asterisk Talley takes a one stroke lead into tomorrow's ANWA final round
Can't have Ludvig win this week or his number will be bad next week. Not like it's really going to be all that great to begin with. Hopefully we can see a 20/1.
i was watching when she first took solo lead some yesterday morning
faltered over the next couple of holes and didin't really seem to latch on to it
wasn't able to see a thing today, will catch up on the early tomorrow replay over coffee
you didn't miss anything yday, as that was the practice session at Augusta National for the full-field (even for those ladies that missed the cut)
Live From said that she was fourth in driving distance (at 304 yards) at last week's PHX LPGA event. absolute fire for someone who turned 17 less than two months ago

I never realized any of the ladies were hitting 300 yards but with her body frame that is amazing

my guess is it isn't like on the PGAT w ShotLink tech
they're probably only measuring a couple of holes a round (maybe a couple of tee shots on par 5s)
whatever the case may be, it's impressive
as a reminder to the layman itt, Talley finished runner-up in 2024 in the U.S. Girls Junior and the U.S. Women's Am as a 15-year-old
she was runner-up (by a stroke) in last year's ANWA
Poor Talley
watched a little early, just saw the result. playing 12 & 16 a total of seven strokes over is something, as is taking a drop in the bunker you just dunked from.
that was tough to watch. she was in control for a good stretch there after that hot start
her bunker technique seems to be a leak that needs to be addressed
JJ grinding his ass off, and somehow Putnam is going to win this under the radar.
ÂBERG needs to learn how to play on Sunday. Hope he doesn't have the final round yips this early in his career.
Yes I had a few bucks on him pre-tounament. 😡
Had to cash out my JJ bet cause I still think Putnam is getting to at least 17.
Yella another great week moving up the board
Promising CDN career earnings to date just over $300,000 and banks $925,000
Loved the high fives down 17
He's played like all of the tournaments this year and basically is grinding every time he makes the cut. Seems to me the only issue with his game is consistency. Makes a ton of birdies but a few too many bogeys. Don't know how live he is to win one of these bigger tournaments, but definitely wouldn't be surprised if he wins something like John Deere (if he even plays something
I'd be surprised if he ever won anything. Cool story, but he had heater weekend in a big tournament, hardly some budding superstar with pedigree.
On another note I noticed Bridgeman and Thorbjornsen use the 10-finger grip along with Fitzpatrick. So weird to me, growing up it was pretty much forbidden to use.
for all you Yellamaraju skeptics
Sudarshan currently T-9 with a couple to go
still out there grinding and having fun
