New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.
In
close to 10 years ago there was a Rick's app error whereby you could've added a 2nd QPC patty to a QPC for FREE. Took over 3 months for it to be corrected.
I was mad chill with the assistant manager and I swear he knew what I was doing, and was likely doing that hack himself too haha.
You still have to pay for the extra chicken patty. Which is why it’s so odd they don’t offer the same option with a burger patty. You can add an extra burger patty on any other kind of deal, but with a reward single burg you just can’t.
Had a couple Chick Fil A sandwiches today and they were excellent.
That QPC error reminds me of when smash burger had the smash pass going and Rick and BK were battling 1$ QPCs everyday on the app. We had it so good before COVID
I remember in HS my standard McDonald's nighttime snack:
2 Big Macs
Large Fries (now medium)
Large Coke (now medium)
$4.07
Back in the summer of 1995 I was nonstop toasting tray after tray of Bic Mac buns at Rick's when they were 2 for $2. That promotion was pure chaos.
In NW Montana dealing with shiz. Hit up Frugal's in Kalispell for a 1/4 lb bacon cheeseburger combo, with fries and a drink, upgraded to their Shake Of The Month, lemon creme. Damned good food. LC shake is the bomb! Fries are not my favorite, but weren't the worst (InO) fries I've eaten. Fry sauce is good. Great burger with a decent amount of thick bacon. 100% will eat again.
Not a bargain after up-charges, $15.

Whataburger in Vegas is on the Strip on the map. Is that in City Center?
I've been in Vegas almost 2 weeks and exhausted my usual places to go. Any FF reccos? I have access to the most mainstream places at home - Mickey's, JITB, BK, Arbees, and Carl's.
Something different would be nice.
In N Out? Vegas was the first place I got to try it.
It's hard to believe how cheap fast food used to be. I found a receipt in the pocket of an old coat I was donating, in 2007 I paid $4.49 + tax for a Big Mac extra value meal.
I remember a promo they ran in winter in Illinois in the late 90s or early 2000s....buy 1 qpc or big Mac, get 1 for the high temperature the day before. Some days they were free because the temperature was a high of zero or below.

Thereβs a place called R Burgers that people seem to like and is FF or FF adjacent. Ainβt never had it myself.
I always enjoy a trip to White Castle. Also Raising Canes? Nathan Hotdogs?
White Castle looks like I wouldn't like it.
Raising Canes, I've heard of, but didn't know much about it.
Nathan hotdogs I really disliked. Something about the skin on the weiners.
I ended up just going to Wienerschnitzel again.
It has been a number of years since I was there, but that sounds like a great suggestion for pig4bill. I was going to suggest nosing around for some bbq places. I recall seeing a couple suggested somewhere in the recent past, but I haven't been to those and don't even recall their names.
Arbyβs has BOGO sandwiches again for the weekend. All month of April.
So many new sauces at McDonald's! Both Hunter and Demon sauces were pretty good. Hunter is a sweet sriracha and Demon is a spicy purple mustard.
I noticed that if I try to add a sauce to my app order, it wanted to charge me 29c. Asking at the counter was still free.
is having a recycle unused sauce packets next to the trash bin a common thing at all cfas?
I discovered today that Doordash makes drone deliveries to my house.
Flying drones or those robot carts?
Flying. Saw one dropping into the neighbor's yard 2 doors down. Wasn't sure if it was walmart or doordash, but another neighbor said he gets doordash drops all the time.
So no tipping?
