How do you play AQo in SB multiway?
1/3. Hands are going four to six way, calling 15-30 pre.
V1 and V2 (500+) are loose-passive calling stations.
Hero (350) is small stack. Hero has not straddled. Hero raised to 35 and took down some pots, then dribbled down in multiway pots. No one pays attention.
V1 opens 18 UTG. V2 in HJ calls. Hero in SB with AcQd?

I would fold facing a 6x UTG open from a loose passive. Would be happy to 3bet this facing a weaker open.
The fact that V is a loose passive means his opens (especially Utg for 6x) will be a much stronger range. Calling and playing this hand multiway out of position is not going to go well for us. I don’t really want to 3! to 25% of our stack and have to fold to 4!, or be in a tough spot when two loose players call the 3! and we’re oop without much stack left to maneuver post flop. Just folding here and waiting for a better spot.
Wisdom says raise or fold from the SB and can’t raise here, so…
However, I think I would get out of line and call here, playing mostly fit or fold. It’s not like there was an open & a raise ahead of us.
Most loose passives are easy to outplay. It’s not really trapping, they just don’t like putting money in the middle themselves; but they most definitely will call your bet.
Lot of clues to strength ahead, a semi-strong hand and closing the action - I call
I break the rules here, because I think I can make better decisions post-flop even OOP

Pretty much agreeing with everything Dan wrote. LP 6X from UTG, I want something more than AQo. Even if you hit your Ace, how happy are you really?
How're you going to feel after b/f'ing something like 90 with a 350 stack? Ofc, if you take it down and add 10% to your stack, awesome.

Hero folded. No one showed cards.
Against someone labelled as passive opening decently large from UTG, I think AQo is a fold. We really think a passive player is doing this with AJs? It's typically much stronger than than and AQo sucks versus that range both in terms of IO and RIO (and both of these are even worse OOP).

I think AQo is a clear fold against described villain. To the one who said you can make better decisions - how? You're oop in a bloated pot against a strong range and a tough hand to play.
