AK hand 5 donked into.
1/3 8 handed.
UTG is brand new to game. She is a mid thirty female.
500 effective.
UTG opens to 10, I raise to 30 next in with AsKs, all fold back to her and she calls.
60 in pot
3c7s3d….She donks 40. I call?
140 in pot
3c7s3dJd…She checks. She could have 88,99,TT. If I tried to get her to fold those how much should I go? 160? Should I check?

I fold flop.
AP if you want her to fold, what would you bet if you had AA or JJ? $120 sets up a river push.
Don't fold flop. I like 120 bet and shove all rivers though.
I think the flop is the inflection point & calling is the worst option - especially against a newbie. Fold would be acceptable, but I would raise 100. The player described will be face-up if they don’t fold.
New players see those monsters under the bed and overfold. If she calls the raise, she’ll probably still check the turn & give you a FreeCard.
With the turn check as played, villain has some doubt. But I would take the FreeCard - just because she won’t bet, doesn’t mean she won’t call. Check & see the river.
The money comes from these players when they have a straight & don’t see your flush, they have the flush & don’t see your boat, etc
In this case, ace or king on the river & you probably get paid. You beat this kind with value, not with bluffs. These players are too unpredictable - she could be playing quad threes this way or call you down with a pair of fives.
I'd be very tempted to flat the initial small raise from these spots and hope someone attempts to squeeze where I can then 4bet. And if it goes like 5ways to the flop at these stacks for this sizing, not the end of the world at this SPR with this hand.
As played, I'd just fold to the large flop donk. If we're not folding then I assume our plan is to like get her off like TT+ later, which may not be a good plan against an unknown (especially when the scare cards we're looking to do that with happen to be our value cards).
If our plan was to get her to fold TT- at this point, then we have two options. One is to bet big now, hope that works, and if she continues then prolly give up. Another option that I'm coming around to a lot more now is to bet fairly small with the plan to then bomb the river. I actually like this plan more because (a) there is more chance she'll announce JJ with a check/raise now or with a huge river donk and (b) it actually steals us more money.
But honestly not sure I'd attempt this against an unknown.

You could bet small and jam huge on river that is a fine line also. Folding flop is not necessary.
If we were giving her a range of 88-TT, and wanted her to fold by the river, I think a flop raise helps us more than starting our bluff on the turn Jd. Why can't she have JJ?
As played I think I'd just check back and evaluate if we want to bluff catch or bluff on the river. I don't think it's a good idea to target 88-TT to fold out. That's such a narrow range, and she's probably not calling the 3B.pre and donking 2/3 pot on this board with a hand that's planning to fold.
Against an unknown rec or reg, I always fold flop and wait for a read. Calling a 3bet oop and then donking 2/3? Only a crazy has worse than a pair. AP, I’m checking down and hoping to chop against crazy. Save your bluffs for known players.
Give us a read. Dress? Posture? Black chips from the table? Tattoos? I always give women a what-are-you-doing-here look as soon as they sit down because they are few.
Keep it coming with the AK hands.
Call the flop - the flop changes absolutely nothing. On the turn we have two options - we can check back trying to showdown against unpaired hands we're ahead of, or we start betting repping AA/KK trying to fold out stuff like 99/TT/QQ/etc. I think it depends on the population as a whole - not sure how 1/3 plays in these spots. But if we think he has 88-QQ - say he will fold 88,99,TT and call QQ/JJ it's a profitable bluff.
100 and shove most rivers, bet small on an A or K

Agree with the highlighted. Not many river cards I can think of I'd bet as a bluff.

I wouldn't try bluffing the 1/3 population on relatively dry boards like this, especially when we all know people love putting you on AK and call down.
I think bluff on this board is suicide.
