How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?

It is funny to see so many posters calling the US and Israel the great disrupters in the ME while Iran funded multiple terrorist proxy armies across the region who destabilized each of their respective countries, on top of initiating the Gaza war on Oct 7th. Furthermore, Iran has been one of Russia’s key military allies. But according to many in here they’ve just been peacefully minding their own business.

No, it's just an unfunny joke that the administration couldn't even plan two dominoes ahead before dropping bombs and then having to drop sanctions on both Iranian and Russian oil. Like ffs at least show some preparation for this scenario.

But reports are Ukraine is actually hammering Russian energy and infrastructure near the Finland border, in ways it either couldn’t or wasn’t permitted to before. So it doesn’t appear like Russia is actually going to come out ahead either from current events.
A lot of speculation why this is happening now, and how this links to Ukraine’s assistance with drones in the Middle East theater. Or would be payback for Russian assistance of Iran.

Well there should be no "payback" for Russian assistance given the amount of assistance Ukraine has received. Like zomg Russia is giving Intel to Iran where US bases are. From what I can tell no one ran with that, which thank God there is some self awareness remaining.
If new attacks in Russia that would not have happened before are getting the greenlight now as an attempt to counterbalance the advantages of their new windfall of oil money, I could see that as plausible and something I wouldn't expect to be shared.
Tomorrow is gonna be a bad day for all Iranians. The President has no choice but to go full Gaza on Iran.

I know americans put their head in the sand and forgot the Ukraine war is happening. The most important war since ww2 or at least korea. but like iran is literally killing are allies in ukraine with drones as an aggressor in that war . ITs not like they were just peacefully sitting on an island doing their own thing. They were like actively against us and if we stop attacking they will still be atively against us. Just stopping them from suppying russia is enoguh reason to keep bombing them. let alone 100 other reasons
There is a rumor that the US used the saving of the pilot as a scheme to run an operation to find the enriched uranium.
What actually happened was a bit of misdirection. The US pretended to be looking for the missing soldier in a place he was not. I heard this was the Presidents idea. This made the Iranians look stupid.

Which could also mean Trump is bluffing in regard to taking out Iran's grid. So if he was going to pull out anyway without Iran opening up the Strait....

Zeihan did a little commentary on this, and speculates:
1. Ukraine has developed better drones, so they have the capacity to hit sites they couldn't before
2. Russia air defense is degrading over time.
3. Turkey and others were complaining at Ukranian actions causing disruptions in the Caspian Sea. So Ukraine may have been instructed to back off Caspian Sea infrastructure, and focus on NW Russia instead.
4. Related to Iran war in ways already speculated upon.
