Rice in his typical arrogant and egotistical fashion assumes that he was the only one at the table who understood that a guy with JT had only 3 outs against a guy with QJ on a flop of 955. No one else made a big deal about it like Rice did therefore that means they didn't understand. Rice admits it was the highlight of his day, most likely because it was an opportunity to feel superior.

A chiropractor posts a video advocating five day sardine diet.

Oh, man I've actually skimmed a few of this guy Dr. Eric Berg's videos on YouTube recently. I didn't realize he was a chiropractor! πŸ™„

has anyone ordered room service because it such a reasonable deal?

One of the problems for Strip tourism is that they can't have cheap room service, because that would undercut their own restaurants, because much of the Strip is basically a duopoly, and they are just trying to extract as much money from you as possible. I don't think room service prices are completely unreasonable in a downtown hotel in NYC or even here in Boston. I asked Gemini, since I was curious, and this was its summary of the situation:

If you look only at the menu price, NYC and Boston are roughly 15–20% more expensive than the Las Vegas Strip. However, once you add the mandatory fees, a room service meal in a mid-tier Vegas suite (like Caesars or Bellagio) often costs exactly the same as a meal at a 5-star hotel in Boston or New York.

So there ya go. 5-star prices at mid-tier resorts. Certainly par for the course for Vegas, but still fair to complain about.

sure, but CN is not comparing room service charges to anything else other than normal price of food.

while we are on the subject: I ordered room service at Red Rock once, a club sandwich and fries. it was the most ridiculous thing ever, the service was fantastic, they gave me special ketchup containers, nice silverware and plates, I couldn't help but laugh.
they tacked on extra charges but it was still fun. if I ever wanted to again I'd probably plan on paying an extra $15 on whatever the menu said

He's better than most real doctors, he actually studies new things and does not keep the same rubric they learned 20 years ago and think nothing every changes.

he judges one hotel more favorably than another because you can open the windows. he mentioned getting room service at Park MGM and commented that it was too pricey. has anyone ordered room service because it such a reasonable deal? it was also the only hotel he judged based on room service.nice effort overall and can't believe I'm saying this but the biggest problem with the v

If you mean Horseshoe, the bad thing is you can't close the window all the way in some rooms. Very bad in the winter as cold air blasts into the room.

I think the way the sliding glass doors work is an artifact of the pre-fire MGM setup. Back then you could open the sliding doors all the way. Of course, that's illegal in Vegas these days. Instead of replacing every sliding glass door, they tried various band-aids that were much cheaper to implement than complete replacement of the windows.

Caesars and Bellagio are mid-tier? They sure aren't priced that way.

Surprised Caesars has room service, no other CET place does.

For many years, my standard Vegas visit went like this:
Sitting bored at work on a Friday morning I get the idea to go to Vegas for the weekend. I lived 5 minutes from work, so I usually went home for lunch. When I got home I could quickly check on room availability. This was in the early 2000's when Vegas was booming, so sub-$100 rooms were just a fantasy. I generally got poker rate rooms at Bellagio or Wynn for less than Flamingo rooms.

I'd pack a bag, make room and flight reservations, throw the bag in the trunk, skip lunch so the beer hits me hard, and go back to work.

5PM and I'd hit the road for the airport 5 miles away. In the air by 6 pm. The parking garage was part of the terminal, so quick walk to the security line, bag was carry-on.

Have a beer on the plane to start the pre-game (pre-pre-game?).

Land, get in the fast-moving taxi line, and arrive and check into the hotel in < 30 minutes. Grab another beer at the bar and head up to the room and shower up. Get another beer to hold me until I get into a taxi.

Get to the "entertainment" place, have some nice conversation, drink a lot more beers, but just below the puking limit.

Get back to the room, hungry as hell, ORDER ROOM SERVICE, and if I didn't pass out before it got there, wolf it down, approx time 2 am. Sometimes I stayed at Bally's, or MGM, or Monte Carlo, or even Stardust. They ALL had 24 hour room service.

Paris has room service. You can order Bobby's burger, Martha Stewart's, nobu, and others and they deliver. I rarely stay at Caesars properties and this was a nice perk.
The best room service menus are at Venetian-palazzo and Fontainebleau. Aria is in second place.

The amazing this is he can play in games where this is true, and he still plays like such a nit he has a single digit hourly.

nobody says Bellagio is mid-tier. we were talking about Park MGM, Horseshoe, Harrah's, Luxor, Linq, Flamingo

Casino Nomad did a hotel review video and he negatively critiqued Park because room service dining costs were high.

I’ve stayed at most of these properties in the past.

Park was great value when their rates were a quarter of Aria’s. MGM has now closed up that gap a LOT and so the value in Park is just gone.

Flamingo, for as much as people like to beat it up, is a pretty great value. And you’ll never beat its proximity to whatever you want to do when you’re there.

Yeah I thought Aria was very over priced, They haven't done a remodel since it opened lol Not quite the luxury property they say they are. I always thought MGM properties were much better then Caesars but I honestly wouldn't stay at either now unless you are trying to save money then stick to a flamingo type where they give rooms away like candy, Cant beat that value and location.

But if you want a luxury property stay I would avoid both companies, Neither can compare to Venetian/Wynn imo.

Venetian / Palazzo has some really tasty room service choices. Of course it is not cheap, but other than the usual service charge, it really isn’t much more expensive than eating comparable food in their restaurants.

And I know Jaman has said it for years, but goddamn the Venetian Resort’s desserts are the best in all of Vegas. Especially the cheesecake and carrot cake..

Huh, I stay at Paris fairly often, haven't seen room service there in at least 5 years. Are you sure you're not talking about Caesar Eats or something like that?

Not for nothing, but unless you're a cripple, walk your ass down stairs and pick up your order to go. You're at a casino. Everything is easily within reach. Damn, people are f*cken lazy these days. Every day, as I'm walking out to grab my lunch, there's a gaggle of Gen Z in the building lobby waiting for their Uber Eats or whatever app they are using to deliver their lunch. Laziness is an epidemic these days, particularly with the younger crowd. Rant over.

Nomadic Duck reports form Austin in his "nomadic alcove".

The alcove has no windows and no door and has an air mattress and has a divider to demarcate the alcove and prevent other nomads in the house from entering same.

Nomadic Duck states property values are too high in Vegas to buy a permanent address in Vegas and thus this is why his house with a garage is located in San Antonio. A permanent address in San Antonio is around $100,000 as compared to $400,000 in Vegas. Nomadic Duck states he will use nomadic hotel stays in Vegas in lieu of buying a permanent address in Vegas. He will combine this with the Frontier pass to fly from Texas to Vegas for unlimited flights to Vegas from his nomadic alcove in Austin. Furthermore Nomadic Duck receives EV every time he flies by collecting free food and drinks and showers from the Capital One lounge.

Nomadic Duck then states it is possible for nomads to live on Amtrak trains by continuously transiting from Austin to Chicago and the train has free wifi, food, shower, and a sleeping compartment.

Nomadic Duck recommends Zoox taxi which is a free taxi for the Vegas strip.

In Seattle he states there is a church which provides comped rooms for nomads.

Nomadic Duck rejoices because the Rio gave him an additional four comped nights and he consider the Rio his nomadic home in Vegas.

Nomadic Duck is seeking a teardrop camper trailer which can be parked at the oversize Rio parking lot for weekend nights.

And it’s still much better than Trooper’s hourly lmao.

A poster in another thread mentioned that 1/3 at one of the Vegas casinos was β€œso ridiculously easy it’s unbelievable.” I thought to myself that Trooper played poker for almost 20 years and still would find it way too difficult to beat.

That is quite the accomplishment on its own. Trooper really is flat out stupid.

Its an absolute classic that the biggest losers and underachievers in life are the ones with the biggest ego and the biggest "i know it all" attitude.

this really made me laugh and is so true. there are dozens of restaurants at the bottom of the hotel elevator at every Vegas resort.

Have you seen the markups restaurants charge on the Strip? Even with the delivery fee and tip, getting Uber Eats for any place off the Strip is way less expensive (esp fast food)

I have been fortunate enough to travel internationally a lot. Fat is a thing. But pure arrogance is at another level. Justifiably so Americans are not welcome around the globe. Sad!!
