2026 Non-WSOP Tournaments
This thread is for all Summer 2026 non-WSOP tournaments. Now that the WSOP schedule is out, the countdown for others is
Mixed 2-7 is limit triple draw, pot limit double draw and no limit single draw all are 2-7
Triple triple draw is 2-7, Badugi and A-5 All limit and all triple draw. Sometimes itβs called mixed triple draw too
Great, thank you!
I was also curious what BEAST was. For anyone wondering...
Badugi
Stud Eight or Better
Ace to Five Triple Draw
Seven Card Stud
2-7 Triple Draw
This looks fun to me, as do the Mixed 2-7 and Mixed Triple Draw. I'll likely try to play at least one of those. If I have one small complaint, I don't think it was wise to put a $400 TORSE and $240 Mixed Triple Draw on June 20th when the WSOP $1.5k Limit 2-7 event will start. Maybe they think the price point is different enough not to overlap, but you'd think a lot of the prospective players will be occupied by the WSOP on that date.

The $240 mixed events at Orleans run pretty much daily at 4pm or 6pm and don't really overlap with the player pools that play the bigger events unless they busted from something earlier in the day. As far as the $400 TORSE being on the same day as the $1.5k Limit 2-7 that has a bit more conflict although there's still a big segment of the mixed game population that is not as comfortable with 2-7 TD as they are with the other traditional HORSE games that will not enter that event anyhow.
Just dropping in to say that I am not returning to the Nugget this summer.
Since last summer I've wanted to "spill the beans" and really offer an in-depth look at what happened, why it happened, and the struggles that came with the entire summer.
The truth of the matter though, is that this ultimately is my career, and one in which I care about a whole lot. I have to understand that anything I do say will ultimately follow me in the future.
So I'm going to just keep things as professional as I can and say this:
The Nugget has THEIR way they want to do things while others who travel the country all year long working tons of events are used to things being done a different kind of way. Ultimately it is my belief that they made a very big mistake not bringing Kurt Dau back, and despite my best efforts to fill just the pinky toe of the massive shoes he left last summer, it became clear that the Nuggets values and approach to various things did not align with my own. Transparency and candor as an example.....square peg and round hole scenario really.
Those with whom I've worked with since the summer ended knew I wouldn't go back without wholesale changes being made. Needless to say, they're steadfast in doing things THEIR way. Good on 'em, good luck. I'm not the type to wish ill will on anyone, and I won't start now.
Now to my personal feelings:
I'm incredibly upset.
It sucks.
I thought about the summer EVERY SINGLE DAY, for at least 3 months after it ended. I care about this shit a LOT, and I love working in the poker industry. Since I got out of the military in 2014 I struggled for nearly a decade finding something to be really passionate about until I found working in this industry in 2022. To go from never pitching a card in my life as I worked WSOP in summer of 2022 to a freaking Tournament Director 3 years later? It was an insane arc, and one that I likely wasn't totally ready for. It's disappointing to have ultimately failed, but I find that I learn more from failure than I do from success. The knowledge gained ( the good, the bad and the ugly) has been immense, and will help me as I take a few steps back, regroup and get ready to attack this quest again down the road.
Barring any surprise last second changes, I'm taking the summer completely off from Las Vegas and staying home.
I wish everyone the best of luck on the felt this summer, and hopefully someday our paths cross again.
I don't give up easily π
That's a bummer. Best wishes with the next step.

We appreciated your efforts last year as well as your open communication here. It really did seem like you were doing your best to make it a successful series but you were up against some suits that didnβt necessarily see eye to eye with you. It happens and it is in no way an indication of your ability.
From the outside looking in, it seemed like a clash in personalities and values from the start.
Iβm sure youβll find a place that fits much better in the near future. Good luck and keep us posted on where you land next.

Kudos for sticking to your guns.
Is there a Kenny H. spreadsheet yet this year?

Not sure that works this new format 2+2 sucks balls and I never use it. I could post it in an old style thread though π
That link didn't work for me.

Thanks for posting! Been waiting for this to complete my schedule.
I like what they've done this year. More variety, slightly friendlier price points, more satellites, and the return of nightlies. I'm likely to play there again this summer after giving the Aria a miss in 2024 and 2025.
is the Cesars 100$ tourneys gonna be ongoing during wsop?
if so they will be getting a **** ton of runners imo
I tend to spend quite a lot of time in Caesarβs card room during my annual visit to the WSOP and Iβll usually play one or perhaps two of their dailies. They run them every year with their regular schedule. No, they donβt get βa ton of runnersβ. They get some increase in traffic, perhaps even as much as a 50% rise in the number of entries sometimes. But in my experience, the vast majority of WSOP visitors avoid hotel daily tournaments because of their huge rake and poor structures.
Best I have found so far is at Poker Atlas but its not a full structure sheet. https://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-tournament/2026-2026-orleans-summer-open-300-nl-holdem-super-sunday-special-the-orleans?topid=272174-2026-06-21
I just found a post on X from GNLV card room dated 17th March in which they stated that the Golden Nugget Grand Poker summer series will run this year from June 3 through June 28. So it looks as though a much shorter series than usual will be on offer this year, which is something of a disappointment. Especially for me as Iβm only there from May 25 - June 5 and the GN is my prime venue for getting my mixed game tourney fix every summer.
There was another post on April 3rd suggesting that the schedule would be out within 5 days, so we can expect something this week apparentlyβ¦.
This is really disappointing because Iβll be out there basically the same dates you will be and I enjoyed playing at GN in previous years.
Although, I really canβt stand downtown anymore and the permanent marijuana smell and naked homeless people everywhere, so maybe itβs not all bad.
Interesting offering from Southpoint. I really do wish venues would get in the habit of posting structure sheets along with their schedules, especially when there aren't that many events, as is the case here. Starting stacks and level lengths don't mean squat. I called the venue and they said they had a physical sheet, but it's not online yet. So, instead of putting it on my schedule and seeing where I can work it in, I am left to sort of completely disregard this series and maybe I'll remember it at some point in the future.
Per twitter (X) they have made some corrections to the above 4/10/26
While we completed our structures, we notice a few errors. All 12p mixed games will end registration at 5:45p. The $600 mixed games have a 35k starting stack and 30/40 minute levels, $400s 30k w/30 minute levels and $240s 25k w/20 minute levels. The structures will be up shortly!

Totally agree. And that habit of releasing them at the last minute doesnβt sit well with me either. It reminds me of when we were asking for the structure sheets for the MGM series and they kept saying, βtheyβre posted in the poker room.β I ended up not setting foot there.
The SP (edited) poker room is always busy and they have the best casino in Vegas as far as being a value destination when it comes to food costs vs. quality, gambling conditions and room comfort and cleanliness.
I love SP. I don't play poker there because it's a bit of a low buy-in but I don't think they really care about trying to squeeze out more players. They're always packed to the gills during the summer.

Wait. Did you just say MGM has good gambling conditions? Their poker βroomβ is an area of the slot floor surrounded by loud machines and their own TD talks about a garbage place it is to play poker.
It is definitely the worst poker experience still remaining on the strip.
