The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

To be clear I 100% support the LGB community

Right. You do not support the trans community. We know.

Personally I'd rather come off on the side of being supportive of having a cumbersome acronym than I would coming off on the side of deliberately choosing a group of people not to support.

I support and respect the rights of any ideology just as I respect religious rights . Though no Catholic is going to force me to believe in their ideology

LGB is a sexual preference and the other letters are an ideology

Your anti-trans ideology is pretty stupid. You can just be honest and say "I don't support trans people". You don't have to play these stupid games where you say you support LGB people deliberately leaving out the T and then saying trans people are an "ideology".

Of course, back before LGB acceptance was as widespread as it is, right wing culture warriors like yourself would try and caste being gay as an "ideology" as well, the product of a leftist indoctrination. We now know how ****ing stupid that was. But endlessly bashing trans people is in vogue right now. Sad.

Im not sure what " support trans people means" AS an adult i support what ever lifestyle you choose but sorry your not making life changes to children with drugs or surgery and if you do you should be charged

I never thought that being gay was an ideology . I was raised as it being a sin but my beliefs changed sharply in my late 20's with neighbors being both lesbian and gay and coworkers that were gay.

You said "I 100% support LGB". The obvious deduction is that you do NOT 100% support T. That's why you left it out. You denigrate it as a "lifestyle" or an "ideology".

Now you pretend you don't even know what "support trans people means". You had zero troubles saying you support gay people. Nobody asked you to play armchair doctor on some specific medical policy, the question is why are you going around deliberately excluding trans people from the list of people you claim to support?

Questioning ?

Hey, I was gonna try to learn more about this 2S stuff and was going to read an article but decided I may not be able to stomach the content as it has a pretty scary warning:

"Content Warning: Mentions of Residential Schools and Effects of Colonizations"

https://www.theindigenousfoundation.org/...

click at your own risk.....you have been warned

The USA had a similar situation it's a dark part of Canada's past that ended not long ago
Sadly no one has held the main culprit accountable the Catholic Church

The most discriminated group of folks is the Indigenous in Canada

And don't get me going on the stupidest thing there is land acknowledgements

Wow Toronto Star being sued for covering up a story that Justin Trudeau accessed child porn on his personal devices

Will see were this story goes. Will see if the CBC covers this

I think everyone can figure out where this story goes. I'm sure maple magas on X will complain of some type of cover up when it is thrown out of court.

The most discriminated group of folks is the Indigenous in Canada

Earlier, an indigenous MP who represents indigenous issues in Canada spoke about declining funding for indigenous people in the most recent budget. You ignored all substance of her points. Instead, you ridiculed the acronym she used. Do you think this kind of behaviour helps create conditions where it is easy for the discrimination to persist?

I wonder how much more "funding" it's going to take for them to say ok we don't need anymore "funding".

ah yes, those whiny indigenous people complaining about how they don't have clean drinking water, when is enough enough ya know?

Last I read long term water advisories have declined. 5-10 billion spent in the last 10-15 years, how much more?

It'd be nice if people had prove where all the money went and why they needed more before whining and cry for more. Water treatment plants are built everyday, not that hard.

It would be nice if people knew how to conjugate 'proof' properly but we can't always get what we want. Of course, you've never looked up any of the "proof" of where the money went, you are just throwing out aspersions that it is insufficiently accounted for.

Declining is good. I praised Trudeau for that. But declining isn't the end of the road.

I bet a ton of her own people were laughing at her use of the letters

Thanks for reminding us on another of Justin Trudeaus broken promise and a man that couldn't be bothered with them and went surfing

The acronyms are just plain stupid

The problem is you need qualified people to run and maintain them

yes I would say the ratio of “people laughing at a long acronym” and “people substantively discussing the indigenous issue she was raising” is like 100,000 to 1 on X right now.

Isn’t that a problem for someone like you who thinks indigenous people are the most discriminated in Canada? Shouldn’t you want substantive discussion of issues over feckless mockery of someone blending two acronyms into one?

At the liberal convention it was proposed to tax Canadians leaving for the US to work somewhere around 500k. As mentioned before, failed country.

lmao ****ing called it as soon as I saw that maple magas going on about this on X that shifty was going to run to the thread. There is this sort of eagerness to try and find the one thing you can just ineptly make fun of at the convention while completely ignoring everything else. Of course this was NOT an actual "proposal". They voted on all sorts of policies, some yes, some no, this didn't even make it to the stage of something delegates voted on. It was just a random comment some random guest speaker said as an aside to his main point about TN visa's and the brain drain. No liberal MP or policy document or anything of this nature "proposes" this tax.

Feckless.

In fairness within the US several blue states are trying to pass similar laws (and they are much farther along than just brainstorming ideas) to block residents from fleeing to red states.

I guess the more Communist parts of the Western world are going to try to rebuild the Berlin Wall from first principle.

I assume you are referring to California and NY that want to tax the rich and have regulations up the wazzoo . California soon to have a republican governor

Yeah never happen let's just be happy the Liberals didn't have gender and equity cards to speak

by lozen m

Yeah never happen

Correct. The offhand, likely nonserious, comment from a random non-elected speaker is not remotely in any way shape or form a sort of orthodox expression of liberal policy. No proposal, no votes, no MPs, absolutely nothing.

It's just playing the same game maple magas played for the NDP: find the one most egregious thing you can identify and try to laugh at it over and over again while ignoring absolutely all substantive policy and analysis.

If your talking about the NDP convention that wasn't a lone item .
Equity Cards and Gender Cards and the folks that used them and the speaker were all egregious

Yes, I saw you and your maple magas ranting and raving at the Top 3 Let's Make Fun Of The NDP supporters. It wasn't a good look. Sounds like the liberal convention couldn't even make a Top 3 list of stupid comments, which is pretty remarkable for a political party convention, but it didn't stop them from trying.

You failed at the similar prompt when getting super mad at the indigenous women for using an acronym when talking about indigenous issues (that you ignored), so let's try it here. Go ahead. Tell me why it is so very very wrong for the NDP to try and support a diverse range of people getting the opportunity to speak at the microphone? I definitely want to know what a cis straight white man's opinion on this is.
