[extracted] New(?) 9-11 stuff

KSM got a plea deal. The guy who supposedly masterminded the 9/11 attacks is not getting the death penalty.

Billy: Could you please provide a short list of folks with PhD's* in Astronomy or Astrophysics who believe that the Earth is flat? Thanks a bunch!

I'm a YEC, so at least I've got Jason Lisle, who earned a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado.

*From accredited universities of course.

I mean, this quote alone is sufficient to realise you are dealing with someone who is incredibly stupid and/or completely insane:

Even the astro-nots probably still think it's a ball. They have not been high enough to tell.

This dumb **** doesn't even realise that it looks more round the higher you go. If you didn't get "high enough to tell" whatever the **** that means, it would look flat to them. As it does to us on the ground. And they can literally see it's a ball from their vantage point on their spaceship.

Oh, and I'd love to know what sort of dumb****s he knows with a pilot's license who think the Earth is flat. We need the names so their licenses can be revoked and they can be thrown in the same nuthouse as he is posting from.

To be fair, I think Flat-Earth-Believing pilots (which I've heard is EVERY trans-Atlantic pilot) end up in Alcatraz or somewhere if they speak out on the REAL shape of the Earth.

On that point, I'm still waiting for BillyBoosterShot to share his preferred map of the world.

A quick bit of research says that you can see the curvature of the Earth from about the the cruising altitude of a commercial flight (about 10km), so either these pilots have never flown over land on a clear day, or they are not flying commercial jets, or Billy is lying, or someone is lying to him. Or all 4, probably.

Speaking of booster shots, I wonder what Billy thinks of the Covid vaccine?

Billy did you get to see the re entry today? If so, anything stand out?

I a, pretty sure all those people who traveled and camped around the Cape last week to watch the launch were all just crisis actors remaining from the Vegas concert and/or Newtown.

This is surely a "me" problem, but I actually find myself getting mildly angry at how incredibly stupid this mother****er is. Feels like it should be illegal or something.

Ok so explain what a YEC is.

At what altitude do you think one would perceive Earth curve?

"A quick bit of research"

Try a little longer bit of research.

Commercial airline cruising height as I said in my next post, one of the many reasons your airline pilot story is total horseshit.

But that's got nothing to do with the fact that saying they think it is a ball because they haven't gone high enough is absolutely ****ing ******ed. You got it the wrong way round you imbecile.

If you think what I am saying is wrong, present your sources. Otherwise, try ****ing off you annoying moron.

Ah yeah he is easy to find. Interesting, I will read his stuff.

This is a good example of how these fields are outside of natural science. For how can the same data give such wildly different interpretations? This cannot happen with experiment. Ok, so perhaps to an extent, such as QM gives a few different interpretations but not on this scale.

Wrong. Flatness remains at any altitude.

I do not think you are wrong.

I know you are wrong.

I have no need to "fact check" you. You need to fact check it.

Do you understand English? Why would they think it's round then? So according to you it looks like a ball at lower altitudes and flatter and flatter the higher you go? Have you been hitting the crack pipe first thing in the morning again?

You seem to "know" a lot of things. The majority of them are not only wrong, they are absolutely ****ing ******ed. Therefore you have absolutely zero credibility when it comes to things you claim to know, so you need to provide sources. Or don't, I don't really care. But don't expect me to take your word for anything.

For the benefit of everyone who is not Billy:

On the subject of being high enough to see the curve, this is a nice example video that was just a silly experiment but is actually interesting for showing the curvature:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKAblynZ...

It's a constant, unedited shot with the same camera so any curvature effect caused by the camera (it's a camera specifically designed to reduce fish-eye effects) should be identical at any altitude, yet if you compare the curvature at ~8km (30:00) and at ~35km (1:51:00) there is a significant difference.

For the benefit of everyone who is not Billy:

As I did try to warn you, AI searches can be useful but they merely mine whatever information is available. And that information is often wrong or in the wrong context.

Just for fun, these two images are from the same 100 000 feet high camera. We live both in and on a bowl apparently.

Aeroplane windows cause refraction, they are lenses, much like the lens of this camera.

I assume your for fun shots have nothing to do with your actual point. So, you have no point, because you have not provided any sources to contradict any of the information I provided.

If your point is that airplane windows cause refraction therefore any curvature effects you see are due to the refraction of airplane windows, you're going to have to provide an explanation of why this effect only appears above a certain height, or why height would even matter. With sources that are better than "trust me bro".

When will you be explaining how astronauts think the Earth is a ball because "they haven't gone high enough", then? It's obvious you'll never admit that you said something completely ****ing ******ed, so go ahead, what's your non-******ed explanation?

Yeah its a lens effect. You can see this in the video where the horizon straightens and bends.

I bring in hostile witness Neil de Grasse Tyson:
