KSM got a plea deal. The guy who supposedly masterminded the 9/11 attacks is not getting the death penalty.

Explain to me why you think what curvature is and isn't discernible to the human eye would be within an astrophysicist's field of expertise please.

"Not his field of expertise".

Prosecution rests.

Actually not quite.

The "peer reviewed journal article" is behind a paywall. I might have institutional access but have not checked.

Please tell me how you accessed the article. Did you pay or have you institutional access?
Gorgo, how about you?

Bolded is frightening.

Maybe it's not as bad as we think. Perhaps 'institutional access' refers to the mental institution he's a patient in and they have access to journals.

Perhaps you are confusing field of view with field of expertise?

Seriously though, yourself and gorgo have clearly not read the report beyond the abstract. Tut-tut.

Ha, finally geezer did a funny.

Yeah we have a large library here. A whole section on scientific evidence for Earth made in 6 days. Peer reviewed journals dontcha know.

I didn't even read the abstract. The fact that there are clearly conflicting reputable sources is sufficient for me to understand that this is not necessarily a settled matter between even those who understand about these things.

What do you mean field of view? If it's just a geometric calculation, even I can do that, and believe it or not, I don't even have a degree in astrophysics. I could probably even re-use the horizon calculation (or at least a part of it) for that.

The question is: you are on the surface of a large sphere, radius R. At what elevation do you, as a human, begin to perceive that the curvature of the surface? How do you go about calculating this, since you seem to know so much about it? Forget the Earth, show me how you calculate this for an average human in terms of R.

I can't speak to the decline in education, but I guarantee that any failure to think in this thread since Deuces departed is entirely on your part.

Every single ****ing question has to get asked about 5 times to get into your thick ****ing skull. So, now that we've settled the issue of failure to think, answer why you think an astrophysicist would know how to calculate at what elevation an average human starts to perceive curvature or get ****ed, you annoying twat.

Still triggered? You should stop that, blood pressure and all that.Let's assess the argument according to its strength. My claim is that some pilots claim Earth is flat. Your claim is that these pilots can see Earth curve. If my claim is true then your claim is false. I don't claim to have scientific evidence that Creation took place in six days. I believe it because I accept by faith the truth of God's Word.

And there's the self-triggering.

Right, so you have no clue why an astrophysicist would be an expert in how the human eye perceives curvature and you are just talking out of your ass as usual, so NDT is not someone we should listen to on this topic. Got it.

Oh, and the fact that I find you an exceptionally annoying prick is not a sign of me being "triggered". It's a sign of the fact that you are an exceptionally annoying prick.

I still have access to many journals through work for the record. Yes, I read the full paper. Research is kind of part of my job. Yes, I'm a teacher now, but I do still have affiliation with the research hospital where I have worked for 2 decades. If you've read my posts in the covid thread you know that dissecting technical articles is very much part of what I do.

Not that billy deserves even the slightest help with this. I'm done walking him through crap.

No I am not familiar with your magnum opus in the covid thread. I can only guess what kind of content you have posted. Total mystery.

Yeah I'm gonna need the condensed version.

Gorgo likes vaccines.
Gorgo doesn't get along too well with people.

I don't care what you are familiar with or what you guess.

Well, it's actually both. One can rise above the fray and choose to not be angry and/or upset and/or nonplussed by the Perpetually Annoying (TM Pending).

In my experience, Gorgo gets along great with folks who post in good faith. That would explain why he doesn't get along with you too well.

Ah right, fair enough. Someone might need to do the greatest hits thang. All I could see there was the same wafer thin posting he does here. Along with regular unpleasant attacks on other posters.

I should point out that Gorgo and I are seldom in agreement on much of anything.

I guess that makes me a 'hostile witness.' 😀

Someone who thinks getting any vaccine is a bad idea.

As opposed to someone who is Vaccine Hesitant (e.g. RFK, Jr.), which is the belief that some vaccines are safe and effective when used as directed. In other words, a case-by-case basis of careful study before judging the vaccine.
