Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards
Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?
I have read about it in the past, just curious.
Weird question.
I recently was in Vegas for 36 hours. I was playing at Caesars for their double tier credits (I want to hit diamond early this year because I will be busy late). All of the games broke so I headed over to the Horseshoe to get something.
One of the dealers mentioned that the Horseshoe is also offering up double tier credits (34 points per hour). I checked Bravo and they mention $2 per hour in comps (i.e. reward credits), but nothing about foubke tier points. I couldn't figure out from my play if the Horseshoe offered double tier credits or not (the usual poor Caesars Rewards reporting).
I will be going back to Vegas in a few days, I plan on doing a controlled test to see if Horseshoe is offering double tier points (play exactly an hour and have them log me out), but I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this so I would not have to jump through hoops to figure it out. If they do NOT offer double tier credits I would rather spend my time at Caesars instead.

Yes, the ordinary 1/3, maybe even the 4/8 LHE, are paying 34 tc/hour. It doesn't really matter that much if you're looking to accumulate for higher card status. Even if you played a hundred hours, it's only an extra 1700 tc's. If you're a local it's a different story, but if you go to Vegas sporadically, 17 of anything an hour won't be noticeable when you're shooting for 15,000.
Getting Diamond is fairly easy these days with the 10x TCM days. I must have miscalculated my play during a recent session and ended up with Diamond Plus again. Oh well. Guess I’m good through January 2028.

First off, thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
Secondly, 1700 points are nothing to sneeze at. It is literally 11%+ of the way to diamond. I usually grind my way to diamond through the credit card and poker and I am always close every December looking for a thousand or so points. I usually get there by either cramming in long poker sessions or doing a VP dive (or a mix of both).
Obviously I prefer the EV+ aspects of poker so the more I can get through that the better. Getting a few extra points here or there at this time of year makes it much easier (and less EV- VP) later.
Basically, I will probably play 2-400 hours of poker in Vegas in a given year. Getting 2x tier points on those hours matters to me.

Yikes, you must really like poker. I'm struggling to get through a hundred hours, and to be honest, there's a good chance I won't make it.

I will be in Las Vegas in May. I see under my offer there is a 10X Tier credit promotion for the week of Valid: 05.25.26 - 05.31.26. I think I will have 29th available day I can Play VP or slot.
Any suggestions where and what to play? Mostly I play at Cromwell.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thx

Doesn't really where you play as long as it's a Caesars property offering the 10xTCM event. Make sure you swipe your card at the kiosk before playing. I've had it before where you can just go ahead and start playing without swiping but then other times they want you to swipe beforehand.
As far as what games to play, most people on here would recommend grinding out VP. It will take a little longer to achieve your goal but over the long run, you'll have the best edge against the house. Personally, I like playing the old school higher limit slot machines. There's not as many bells and whistles as the new machines but they give more consistent line pays.

In my experience, the best game for this is 9/5 JoB VP. I believe it’s available at Caesars and Paris at least at reasonable denominations and $10/TC. You might be able to find better paying VP at very high denominations, but these will almost always award TCs at a much lower rate (e.g. $25/TC), and thus are usually a worse value for earning TCs.
I think the change-over to Vanderpump will be complete by May 29, so you definitely won’t be playing at Cromwell!
Could be the typical poor quality of Caesars computer systems. Or could be you need a reservation attached to the offer in order for it to be activated.
I did have one attached this trip. The check-in gal told me about it. I see nothing in the summary at the kiosk. I'm not going to plays slots just to prove a point.
Data point - my tier credits shot up from 5000-ish to nearly 10k. The only thing I can think of is the last 5x, where I played no slots but lots of live poker.
Also, to JimL above, I never much noticed live poker tier credits because i didn't play long sessions before. I would usually run out of money after 2 hours. But after my 100 hour freeroll torture, I got a lot of tier credits.
A couple big differences worth mentioning:
Live poker - daily bonus. They come into play much. I once played enough in a day to get the bonus for 500 tc just to see if I could do it. I could, but I don't want to do it again.
Comps and offers, will not particularly be fantastic. You'll get some, but poker doesn't really trip casino execs' trigger.
By contrast, video poker - daily bonuses are your bread and butter. It's how DIAD is achieved.
Comps and offers will be pretty darn good right after you earned the t/c's. If you don't maintain the gambling intensity they will slowly bleed off. It might take a few months though.
It's when your spouse lets you do whatever you want for 100 hours.
Almost. It's when you accumulate 100 hours of live poker before May 24th, and they hold a tournament. Prizes include a bunch of $10k Main Event seats, $1k "tickets" you can use for any event, and a bunch of $550 Mystery Bounty seats. They call it a "freeroll" but I think you pay $10-$30 to play it. They kind of rake your entry, which was funded by promo drops.
I picked up over 7000 tier credits, so there must have been a multiplier or two mixed in there somewhere.
depends on the property for the promo chips. Most I think do it the reasonable way of leaving you the promo chips if you win. However, Council Bluffs Horseshoe/Harrahs take the promo chips unless you push.

I grinded Diamond last summer in the high limit room at Horseshoe playing $25 a hand in 2-3 hours. That would be my suggestion.

With Caesars and now Horseshoe now offering 34 tier credits per hour, if a player is there during a 10x tier credits promotion, it would be a crime to not at least get some hours at poker to help you get to Diamond. Over a 3 day stay it shouldn't be too hard to get in 10 hours at poker. That is 3400 tier credits. More than 1/5th of the way to Diamond.
That said, whenever I play poker during a multiplier period, I always try and play a few hands of VP. I don't know if it matters, but I have found that poker counts for multipliers when VP is played as well.
Summary, play as much positive/neutral EV poker to get Diamond as possible so the negative EV video poker is be minimized.
It sounds like Caesars is bringing back monthly free show tickets.

Apparently you need to be on property to find the offers in your Caesars app, so I haven't checked to see if I can access these -- they suspended my drink vouchers (again) back in December and I haven't spent any time at a Caesars property since.

That link has a couple things I might want to see. A couple shows too. Wonder if they would let you go to more than 1 free show.

I picked up a lot of of tier credits that I can't explain during a multiplier period. Unfortunately I didn't keep track of how much of what I played. A TCM would explain it though. I played a little vp as you suggested, and then quit a bit of regular poker. There's another multiplier at Laughlin next week when I'll be in Vegas, but I'm not sure I want to play a lot of poker in Laughlin.

1. The fact that Caesars doesn't have a way for players to identify where their tier credits come from is an absolute crime.
2. Playing poker during a multiplier is really the way to go. Assuming that people here can play +EV (or even neutral EV) poker, then getting 340 tier credits per hour is huge.
Playing 20 hours over a 3 or 4 day trip shouldn't be that difficult. Right there that should get you almost half way to diamond.
3. I have played poker in Laughlin a little bit. There is no high limit poker. None. At best you can find $2/$5, but even that is rare. That said, the low level games are incredibly soft. Insanely soft. It is possible to just grind poker there dor diamond during a multiplier. The biggest issue concerning this thread is that the only Caesars poker room in Laughlin is Harrahs which absolutely sucks.
