A Chinese tanker sanctioned by the United States passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday despite Washington’s blockade on the strategic chokepoint, shipping data showed.
The vessel, Rich Starry, appears to be the first tanker to transit the strait and exit the Gulf since the blockade began, according to tracking data from LSEG, MarineTraffic and Kpler.
The tanker and its owner, Shanghai Xuanrun Shipping Co Ltd, were previously sanctioned by the United States for dealing with Iran.
The US negotiating delegation demanded a 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment, the removal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium (HEU) stockpile from Iran, and unfettered freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz during the negotiations in Pakistan. Iran countered the 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment with a “single-digit” number of years and offered to downblend its HEU instead of handing over its HEU stockpile. It is unclear whether the three US demands and the Iranian counterproposal represent the full scope of each side’s demands.
The Kremlin said Russia’s offer to accept Iran’s enriched uranium as part of a potential agreement with the United States remains in place.
“This proposal was voiced by President Putin in contacts with both the United States and regional states. The offer still stands, but it has not been acted upon,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to Russia’s state-owned RIA Novosti news agency.
Peskov added that Moscow is ready to provide support for efforts aimed at de-escalating the crisis surrounding Iran.

So at least one Chinese ship has "run the blockade" already, as I said would happen. And nothing happened. So I guess you all can call off WW3.
It said the ship initially stopped, but then carried ahead. A lot of these ships, especially ones that go to Russian and Iranian ports, are registered sketchily through random 3rd party nations. So that was probably the hold up; was communicating it was actually a Chinese ship.
Reports are Saudi wants the US to continue the war, and has even offered to reimburse for it. The IRGC and its proxies have just become too big a liability for regional stability, and Saudi wants them to be forced into behaving better, such as no more proxies in Arab countries. But that it does not want this "blockade" to continue. Bad for business if everyone starts doing blockades or tribute operations. Although if we let Iran get away with it, no reason other countries couldn't decide to do it too.

Lol. It seems you forgot about the stuff about how much alcohol it's going to take to pull an Eric Swalwell, etc. It wasn't the painting story by itself; it was the other comments that led up to the paint story.

They are trying to "punish" Elway for diverging from their groupthink through social shaming. Part of it is to punish him, and another part is to send a warning to anyone else who wants to peacock and not conform to the norms of the tribe.
It is the same energy 10,000 years ago where they would throw people out of the village and call them witches or sorcerers. You see this kind of behavior a lot in Chimpanzee groups. If anything humans practice it more, but it tends to be more subtle and complex.
I am endlessly fascinated observing these types of group dynamics playing out over the internet, and realizing it is basically the same **** that has been going on for hundreds of thousands of years. Just executed through a new communication medium.

That being said, I agree with you it is really degrading the quality of this thread, and I wish the mods would get more proactive stopping the off content nonsense. Or I wish people themselves would be more self aware and stop behaving this way; but that is probably way too big an ask.

Did the ship originate at an Iranian Port though. That is the only ships Trump said he would block. Reality is there are a ton of ports outside the straight as well
