Keep in mind that in most of the places the people doing the rapes are coming from, there is no culture or institutions facilitating honest reporting of it.

It's a common counter intuitive point that dealing with a problem better can make the headline figures worse. Dealing with entrenched problems means more gets reported and more gets included.

Say I know your name. It doesn't matter how I found out who you are. even if its on the same forum. When I tell others it doxing because its not public knowledge. Someone reads 10 year old posts to find my name to bring it here to threaten me. thats not cool. I don't even remember who doxed me at this point. The fact you guys don't see this as doxing shows how insane you actually are. That or boomers who don't know how to use the internet anymore
If my name was already public knowledge it wouldn't have been doxing... but that's not what happened here someone searched for my identity maliciously and revealed it as a threat

He either doesn't care or is too dim to realize that complaining out of the blue just increases the chances that some bored person will use the search function to figure out what he is talking about and then have a laugh at his expense when they realize he is actually complaining about his own bad judgment.
believe it or not I would like to reduce bullying and doxxing on an internet forum I've used for over a decade! Its already out there so why not use it as an example to improve it
