The AEW Thread
Kinda surprised that more people are not talking about this here. With the announcement that they will have weekly tv on
Its very weird that the MAX version airs fast forwardable commercials. I mean, I didn't even try till halfway through the show.
Agreed, totally unexpected but awesome. In addition to that, after a couple weeks the episodes get added to the AEW Archive section with all of the commercials removed.
Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I feel like Swerve is or at least at recently was their most popular star. I feel like they did nothing with his title run and now a heel turn just seems like Tony is missing the boat here. He should be THE TOP babyface.
Counterpoint, Swerve is way better as a heel, especially with a mega face Ospreay return on the horizon. More importantly, he realized it was the only way he could beat Kenny.
Could easily see Swerve go on a wild Joker run that he either pulls Hangman down into and/or has to be defeated by.
I guess when you have 80% of the heels (Death Riders & Callis Fam) feuding with each other, you have to create more heels, but what happens when that feud is over? People are obviously siding with the cooler faction, but doesn't that take most of the joy out of Uta losing his hair? They should have kept him as a pure heel at least until the reveal.
What happened to the Acclaimed, Hurt Syndicate and Bang Bang Gang? Tony has a habit of just randomly taking people off TV and forgetting about them for a long time. I get injuries, but they can't all be hurt.
The Acclaimed have been “forced” to work together, but it’s mostly a c-level story that’s been told via Collision and internet clips. It’s kinda funny, but nothing close to their peak.
Hurt Syndicate is hurt, specifically Lashley who’s been out for quite awhile.
Same story with Bang Bang Gang, half of the group is injured (Jay White, Colten Gunn). Juice and Austin Gunn had a short program with FTR for the last PPV and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.
Mile High Madness was so damn fun.
Tony has never used the bring the WWE talent in and then turn them heal a month later angle before, has he?
If FTR were buddies with Briscoe, why were they cheering Ciampa turning on him.
Something special about Persephone.
Revolution was fantastic, one of the strongest cards I've ever seen. AEW PPVs never miss.
I could live without seeing another syringe stuck through somebody's face ever again.
Again, literally every other match on the show was normal wrestling. Only in the heavily built up TEXAS DEATH MATCH are you seeing a spot like that.
Like come on guys, the pearl clutching is a little much.
So Lio Rush is Gollum now.
Count me among the happiest to see Jericho return to AEW
Spoiler
That means he's nowhere near Mania
Sunday night’s alright for fightin’
I saw only MJF gave Kenny a leaping avalanche tombstone piledriver off the apron through a table to the floor and not only was it not the finish Kenny was up and walking around in half a second so he could climb back onto the apron to take MJF's finisher.
I think the table bump is enough? I don't like the finisher there, not needed. Take five seconds to sell the incredibly dangerous thing you just did and pin the guy.

I know this kinda thing bothers a lot of wrestling fans, but I've honestly never cared at all. Whether it's a count out or MJF throws Omega into the ring for a pin like he did, it's whatever for me.
That is awesome. Pics go hard. Funker FOREVER
Gotta give Tony credit for pulling this trigger, although he could have done a better job of getting Darby Daniel Bryan hot before doing it. Sure beats having Pat McAfee fighting with Jellyroll in the world championship program in the other place.
Just hate that the socials spoiled it for me.
That sucks you got spoiled. Randomly happened to be the first Dynamite I watched live in many months.
They did a great job building the whole thing throughout the show. Really shocking squash with some solid feel good feels. Shades of Mankind winning the belt.
Do you think winning against Moxley was the original plan before Darby’s Everest escapade?
Probably not. Letting Moxley's group run through everyone for a while was probably the smart plan. I don't love that it was Hangman (who almost immediately lost it), but the timing felt right.
Totally agree with the latter. Honestly, the recent title changes have been great and mostly unexpected. Main event scene is really fun right now.
I’m actually digging gollum Lio Rush.
