Those were the impressions gained over here at the time. Dems lost a lot of the Muslim vote due to her staunch defence of the genocide, didn’t they?

It seemed pretty clear that her pivot to an anti immigration stance was a terrible idea and would only serve as endorsement of Trumps agenda.

this theory holds no water as it's never been tested

we've never put up a good female candidate for president

I don't remember anything about her policy at the time but saying Hilary wasn't a good candidate is kind of nonsense. Incredibly qualified and has the right combination of calculated, ruthless, and strong willed to make tough decisions.

Pretty much the opposite of all the things people pretend to criticize Harris for

this is like eating sbarro at times square and declaring that ny pizza sucks

It's not like that at all. You essentially are arguing that we can't gauge whether pizza tastes worse if we burn it unless we have a really good piece of pizza to burn.

I'll take things a misogynist would say for $200, alex.

Harris was qualified for president by dint of being an expert at locking innocent people up? Sound a bit overqualified if anything.

Getting your American political slant from Hasan is a choice

And Hasan is a borderline evil hypocritical piece of ****

If you’re talking about HasaanAbi I’ve only been watching him for a couple of weeks after Kulinski platformed him recently. If you’ve got a link to some terrible stuff he was saying earlier I’d like to see it but he makes a great deal of sense.

Here is a solid report

What stands out to me:

Similar % 79/81 who voted Dem/Republican respectively retained their vote from 2020 to 2024

Within that 20%, a large group of Dem voters were convinced to vote 3rd party. Only 1% of Trump voters from 2020 voted non-trump, the other 18% overwhelming didn't vote

The most important factors that influenced American Muslims’ vote choices were family and friends (53%), political party affiliation (49%), and social media influencers (40%). The top influences for Jewish voters and the general public were political party affiliation (36% and 33%, respectively), family and friends (23% for both), and mainstream media (16% and 17%, respectively). Muslim voters were more likely to have their presidential candidate vote influenced by local religious congregations and national religious leaders (35% for both) as well as national civic organizations associated with their religious group (36%) compared to all other groups and the general public (ranging from 6% to 19% on all three items).

Turns out Muslims are largely susceptible to low level social pressures relative to other voting blocks. This basically means they are highly susceptible to indoctrination and propaganda

He basically just preaches from an ivory tower. Claims to be a socialist yet hes a multi millionaire who doesn't give away his money. In fact, he spends it on clothes and cars for the most part.

Spent most of 2024 creating false both sides equivalencies that instilled political nihilism into the most disenfranchised and vulnerable of populations, not only refused to endorse Harris, but outright condemned her, and now plays victim when his actions directly influenced the election.

All of these people have the same narcissistic hypocrisy of refusing to take any accountability for their actions. They are all awful

[American Muslims are] on par with almost all other groups, including the general public, in voter registration among legally eligible voters.

Of those registered to vote, 80% of Muslims voted in the 2024 election. This is significantly less than 91% of registered voters who voted among the general public, 94% among Jews, 92% among Catholics, and 95% among Protestants and white Evangelicals.

Hasan shocks his dog to force her to stay on a small platform for whole 8 hour streams. He was caught red-handed doing this on video and he and his cult deny it to this day. Same way MAGA acts.

Come on, the old specious 'if you're such a communist why don't you [give away all your possessions/emigrate to the USSR]?' "gotcha" beloved of conservatives everywhere? Really?

Socialists are allowed to like nice things too, you know.

One would almost think there are lots of different ways a candidate can be bad.

Both Hillary and Kamala lost in part because they couldn't generate quite enough enthusiasm within their own party. (And in Hillary's case because of the Electoral College.)

There are a lot more registered Democrats than Republicans in this country. (I assume that's still true.) If both parties have a similar turnout rate, the Dems should win virtually every Presidential election.

Everyone knows that owning a house and having savings invalidates your opinion on worker exploitation.

Bernie not exactly on food stamps either.

Bernie is a social democrat, not a socialist.

He can like nice things, but hes a hypocrite. There is no way around that as long as he is indulging in the luxuries of the class he claims to want to destroy of which he is a part of.

Everyone who isn't a self-serving greedy pig is a hypocrite to some degree - I am and so are you.

Maybe Commies/Socialists are supposed to take a vow of poverty, like Catholic priests.

Seems like it.

No one criticises Marx and Engels for being middle class and comfortable. Engels was a factory owner ffs.

To a degree, I think you are conflating the qualities that make a good president with the qualities that make someone a good candidate for president. There is considerable overlap, but some people who are far better candidates than prospective governing presidents and vice versa.

Marx is largely viewed as the most evil person to ever exist by right wingers so maybe a poor example from you

But,

its one thing to engage in low level hypocrisy. Its another to be on the same level as Joel Osteen

Your observation is perhaps the most forceful argument against representative democracy. The skillset to govern well not necessarily the skillset to get elected. Especially these days. It's possible Nixon lost his close election to Kennedy because he looked bad on tee-vee.
