Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan

feeling fine now.

Best ball theory question (World Cup but not player takes, structure is more my question)

The format is obviously stack heavy playoff style so no questions on that end

However, the position requirements are

2 forward/1 mid/1 defender/1 flex/1 goalie

Forwards generally speaking score the most pts

Most ppl are playing

4/3/3/2

I have been basically exclusively playing

5/3/2/2
5/2/3/2

Once in a while I’ll play 1 goalie and play 5/3/3/1 but idk enough to argue w the consensus that 2 goalie seems correct

Here’s my question

Most defenders and midfielders (not all) don’t score a ton and you need to start 2 forwards and preferably 3 (1 in flex to maximize pts), isn’t it better to have 5 of those guys and fewer of the guys that don’t score a ton? Or is it better to have more of the guys that don’t score a ton bc it increases the odds one of those guys hit and allow you to separate?

Stowers to Philly should kill Goederts value

I offered Tyler Warren + 1.10 for Goedert + 1.02 in 10x10 1.5 tep sf dynasty yesterday and got rejected. A little relieved now

I think Goedert will be fine this year . But he’s prolly gone after this year .

Agreed. I think it’s a bad runout for Stowers.

Goedert all the way this year, then have to hope he moves on and Stowers can move into a full-time role.

But from what I’ve read, Stowers is not much of a blocker and teams viewed him more as a WR hybrid.

Wasn’t Goedert the worst blocking te in the league last year or something like that?

I’m not sure about last season, but historically he’s been a very good blocker, especially in the run game.

Stowers seems more like a Fannin type. He and Goedert probably won’t overlap too much in 2026. But between DeVonta, Lemon, Wicks, and Hollywood, and also the routes Goedert will run, just seems like it’s going to be tough to find Stowers a bunch of routes this season.

Would have preferred Stowers in a high passing volume offense and/or a chance to be a top 2-3 target.

Still a fine dynasty pick.

Carson beck probably sucks but he’ll almost for sure play some games late in the year

Of course the Rams draft Klare.

Ferguson, Parkinson, Higbee, Klare, Allen. I know at least one, probably 2, will have a few good spikes. But I think I’ll just stay away and take guys with more guaranteed paths to snaps.

And yeah, Beck will be in there at some point to be evaluated. I took a little Brissett in pre-draft when I was desperate, but I’ll stay away from that QB room. We could see all 3 of Brissett, Beck and Minshew at various points.

I thought Boerkircher was a sneaky 4th rd dynasty pick, assuming that’s dead now that he’s early 2nd

And yeah I thought Klare would be another one but now I feel like it’s just an avoid for all those guys

I think Miami needs to take a WR at 75, but hoping Trigg is there for them at 87.

Antonio Williams to Washington is something I’m interested in.

Yeah I was taking him late in the last month or so, that’s definitely interesting. Still think they get aiyuk or someone though

McCoy must have the worst medicals of all time to fall this far. Hope the bears take the risk

Well, Miami did take a WR lol. Never heard of him. I see he started out at Florida. Okay #s at Texas Tech.

**** we’re gonna have to draft Allar in rd18 best ball

I’m not sure I can lol.

I do not plan to do much late QB this year.

Idk I think beck and allar are probably going to be values as gross as it is. Beck for sure, allar maybe. Rodgers probably can still start all the games

Yeah I don't hate it, but not in love with it just yet. Nice to have a big bodied receiver though.

Just seems high variance without a ton of upside, even if they might be values in the sense of the draft price compared to snap potential. I’m trying to make less of those types of picks this year, especially at the onsies.

Of course Atlanta takes Branch haha.

Always good to draft a wr that’s my height lol

Of course Atlanta takes Branch haha.

Think it’s a good landing spot for him . And who the hell is Malik Willis gonna throw the ball to? They prolly signing like Deebo and Diggs .

Jakobi lane is a nice Bateman successor
