NFL Offseason 2026
it's the most wonderful time of the year for pretend GMs - the NFL Offseason!
Sure the games are fun, but the 7 months of
damn MIA reaching for bros.
Dane had Caleb Douglas as a 6th/7th rounder
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Steelers drafting Allar, Iām guessing
lololol. Is it a requirement that you have to be a mediocre QB that played at a college in Pennsylvania to be the Steelers QB?
I've seen this over the years similar to mccoy falling because of injury but nfl is again overrating longevity concerns in the draft, you only get a few years before you have to pay them anyway and you're not getting much of a discount at that point. Most of your picks aren't here in 5 years anyway. Unless he's out next year as well it's an easy pick right now.
All these blocking tight ends in round 3. I can't with these teams man.
last 3 bears picks, backup center, a third string blocking TE, WR who runs fast but sucks and was projected a late round. (if he was older he'd literally be velus jones 2.0 in the same round)
insider quotes from the beat writer "we took BPA"
what
at least dunker doesn't have to change his jersey going to the steelers

You gotta get there early to get the good 'uns!
Steelers Bears miss playoffs parlay ftw

Niners in the running for 3rd worst so far.
Draft itself in running for WOAT.
2+2 commentary leading WOAT race like Athens marathoner after the other guy got tackled. Edit: Strictly in terms of volume, or lack thereof.
9ers draft has been holy ****ing **** awful
Not rams awful cuz lol rams
But holy ****ing ****
bears look like the bengals/cowboys right now, all offense almost no defense, well the plan is to score 8 every possession so it doesn't matter.
Loved the Raiders move to get mccoy, sure in a vacuum silly to give up a 7th rounder to move up one spot but mccoy shouldn't have been there unless that knee is absolutely shot.
if it makes you feel better mel kiper called out the 49ers draft too, at least they were positions they needed.
also called out the run on blocking TE's and whatever the heck the bears were doing last night. ugh, damn.
Demeco stuck a shank in the Niners but at least they didnāt panic and start reaching for like the zero sacks allowed-nineteen penalties guy, Bisonitis they call him. They have a pretty good record with WR & DL so I can go fingers crossed B/B- on their first two picks.
But holy gramps jalapeno chili filled diaper, the RB at 90 is beyond F-.

My personal favorite is the vikings taking an LB who canāt cover or rush the passer to provide run support for the DL they drafted with a bad foot.
The Niners had to take Dunker at 90, who really WAS BPA

At least the Bears walkoff grand-slammed their first rounder.
The Niners had to take Dunker at 90, who really was BPA. But at least Black wonāt singlehandedly & deliberately destroy the franchise the way Allar will the Steelers. I watched the UCLA game. He has stuff you canāt unteach. Is his ceiling even Jim Druckenmiller? And Druckenmiller was co-Big East OPOTY as a senior, along with
Spoiler
Donovan MacNabb!
Beck was at least 2nd Team All-SEC 3rd Team All-AAC. Jeff George was 2nd & 1st Team All-Big Ten and won the Baugh Award (RIP) his senior year. My college transcript is more impressive than Allarās.
I have to add the Vikes to this, probably the Niners, maybe even the Rams & Pats.
a ROG wet dream
a 7th round service academy pick paraded around the gawking PIT fans, set upon a stage, and instructed to wave a yellow towel like a trained monkey

I can see it with QBs esp first rounders, but I doubt thereās much data to support it especially after the 2nd round. This isnāt the NBA.
Yeah, if heās 23 and out of nowhere in a small conference is suddenly dominant, you take a closer look at it, sure.
The NFL makes the draft a much bigger spectacle than it really should be. All those people standing around posing waiting for names to be called is idiotic and a waste of time.
And 99.8% of the fans standing there will:
A) cheer the name no matter what
B) have no idea who the **** that player is
C) both A and B

also doesn't help that D) the teams front office celebrates every pick as if they just won the lottery, Grown goddamn men celebrating picking some name out of a hat and a good chunk of the time they ended up bragging about a bust.
it's so ridiculous but part of it is the lack of content in the offseason and they really milk it, combine, draft, etc. They could have this thing the week before/after the super bowl. They used to I think, though back then scouting was like well we need a LB so who's putting up stats, pick that guy. Still the combine pro days and the like really aren't supposed to change much on draft boards. More of a just making sure you aren't so stupid that you find a way to blow this kinda thing.
You're right about a and B, more in tune fans might know of the first round guy if their team is picking early. After that almost no chance. (outside of someone falling ,ie shadeur last year)
also, pretty sure teams have been trading two sevenths at the end up just to leave early for the weekend
I feel like there were very few future high picks traded this year, so it seemed like a weak draft. I know the Eagles took a bunch of upside picks after the 2nd round, but Lemon and Stowers seem like very good picks to me. I know Greenard is 4/$100M, but only half is guaranteed.
Also, trading for Jaire Alexander last year netted them $900k and some cap credit. He never suited up, but seems like a great trade for a 6th round punter.
Howie seems to be playing a different game than most.

I live in Utah, Iām biased, I take Lomu at 27, I get it, it is what it is, but NE trading up to 28 after taking OT 4th overall last year speaks volumes to me. I could live with this draft with Zuhn & Dunker instead of Height & Black. How about McDonald Zuhn Dunker and then BA WR/CB/LBs? A-/B+š
They didnāt draft anything close to a starter or immediate impact player (Helton at least had some great college stats); those two late OL picks are almost historically certain to never be more than fringe depth/practice squad that will be cut as soon as their rookie deals expire.
