Tropicana (Atlantic City, NJ)

Despite it's fall from grace I thought the Trop needed a thread. The BBJ is up to $215K that may add a little excitement in the room. I do miss the No-Limit room that's now replaced with slots. Are any twoplustwoers even playing there?

How much is comps for food/hour?? Thanks

1-2 was like $1/hr

gonna be here for non-poker reasons this weekend but looking to play. does anyone know what they normally spread and caps? only Bravo is showing a few 1/2 games now but it's tuesday. wondering what friday/saturday would be like.

front page doesn't list nor does Bravo.

TIA

Go to Borgata πŸ˜€

It will be worth it, IMO.

There is virtually no reason to play anywhere in AC besides Borgata

I stayed at Tropicana for a couple nights last year and got the impression that they basically only run $1/$2 NL. The games I played in were very good but going to Borgata to play is definitely the right move.

Drinks come faster and it's less hectic. The games can be good but 1/2 is the only option.

If you're just gonna play for a couple hours between meals or hanging out with friends, or whatever work thing you have, 1/2 NL will do. Nothing special, but may not be worth driving/taxi/uber to Borgata and back for 3 hours play.

But that's it. Poker is just an afterthought here.

I disagree. Trop on the weekends is a fun time, especially with Boogie Nights right next door and the music/women around.

Harrahs is also great on the weekends (better than the Trop during the week) and is a short nature walk to the Borgata.

When I'm in AC, I like Harrahs as my home base and flip flop between all three poker rooms.

Fair. There are virtually no poker reasons to play anywhere in AC besides Borgata. If you’re looking for best value/action/maximizing your win rate, there’s only one room worth going to

i appreciate the input, but there was a reason i asked specifically what was going on at the Trop - i even said i looked at the thread front page/Bravo and found nothing, so it should be obvious i understand what Borgata has to offer, since their thread front page/bravo are much more descriptive.

the issue is that i will be at the Trop w/ my family. i'm not looking to travel off property after wife/kiddos go to bed in case they need me for some random, albiet unlikely, reason. i'm just looking to play a few hours on saturday, the last thing i want to deal with is my wife calls me and needs me to come to the room and i have to tell her it will take me 30 minutes to get there because i need to cash out my chips at Borgata's main ****ing cage because the poker room window is closed, then walk back to my car and drive from Borg to Trop.

I've played at Harrahs because i end up at conferences there and i'll pop in for like 2 hours when i have down time. the 1/3 is very exploitable. i wouldn't make harrahs my main room to play, but there is a lot of value there

ty, this answers the question. appreciate it

I prefer Harrahs because I can play $1/2 or $1/3 (not a huge difference usually, but sometimes it is noticeable) and there's usually more games running, but I play the Trop and often stay there because the Boardwalk is nice to hang out at, especially when I am with the non-poker playing wife.

Did the tourney at borgata bring any action ?

Anyone played here recently? Are games similar to/better/worse than Harrah's?

I have some flight/hotel package options where staying at Trop would be ~30% cheaper than Harrah's, and I do like the idea of being close to the Boardwalk instead of isolated like Harrah's.

I might be the only nut on this forum that thinks Harrah's>>>Borgata for low-limit cash games, but I'm wondering if Trop gets as many Seven Stars whales punting off stacks as I've seen at Harrah's.

Not super recent but this place usually dead from what i remember. 1-2 ganes running total style

As long as they have 2 or more tables going, that should be fine - from what I saw on Bravo, it looked like they had about the same or a little less going than Harrah's did on a Saturday and Sunday

If im not mistaken i was last there on a weekday so yea sounds about accurate for a weekend

I just received an email from the Caesar's Marketing folks touting the Trop's poker room.

Being open a little earlier doesn't impact me much but it is just nice to see them sending out something like this. Other than for big poker tournament series' I never see poker emails from CET.
