Idiotic Jeopardy wagers (no spoilers before 6 EST)
If anyone else watched Jeopardy tonight then maybe they feel my pain on this one. The worst part is that if either of t

Jamie Ding taken down by 2p2's most famous polyamorist. Congrats Greg
nice to see him win again. his facial expressions crack me up.
also i'm so far removed from jeopardy these days had no idea a guy was on a 31-day run. way to take him down!
Jamie was a strong champ but definitely not on Matt or Amy's tier IMO.
Granted Jamie did leave a lot of money on the table with a few big DD/FJ wagers over his streak. It felt like every time he had a massive lead built or a runaway, and went for the big score, he missed. Could've easily been >$1M and then his per game rate would have looked very comparable to Matt/Amy's.
Jamie made a big mistake i think. Let me know if i got it wrong, only saw it once. But on the very last question in double jeopardy Shahade rang in first and got it wrong. This had Jamie within Shahade's lead, where if he doubles up in final jeopardy and got it right, would force Shahade to answer correctly and bid ernough to win. But Jamie rang in after him and getting the answer wrong, which moved him out of reach of having a chance to win. Jamie's answer was close, but not right. I think you can't ring in unless you're 100 percent sure of the answer. Even then maybe not becasue what if you misspoke when answering. I think he thought he knew the answer, but it's not worth the risk. I wonder if he realized if he got it wrong he'd be out of reach? Usually players realize that but in the heat of the moment possibly not? He had to know he's pretty smart dude and was a good champ.
They both got final jeopardy right so Shahade prolly woulda won if he just bet more than if Jamie doubled and got it right. Which he prolly would have as he seems like a smart player. But Jamie gave himself no chance by ringing in on that last question in double jeopardy.
If i saw it wrong that if jamie didn't answer he still wasn't within half of Shahade's lead. Nevermind, my bad.
You're right, Jamie made a critical error.
Before the final clue in DJ, Greg had 33k, Jamie had 16.4k. Greg got it wrong and lost $400. Jamie should have stood pat to give himself a chance in FJ but he buzzed in and also got it wrong, turning it back into a runaway.
Can't blame Jamie, it has to be very tough to make the calculations in real time while also trying to win on the buzzer. Fortunately it didn't matter.

Plus it was the first show of a new taping day after an 11 day break, which in this case probably meant 2 coast-to coast flights. No matter how dominant a player is, it has to be tough to get back to 100%.
