1/2. Rake/promo/tip is 6+3+1. 400 effective. Vs are loose passives, like to play for stacks on the river after limping preflop. Standard raise is 10.

LJ bets 6. HJ calls. Folds to Hero in BB with JQo. Hero folds.

I guess you would have made a straight or something. Good fold, even with pot odds.

No offence, but there is a rather prominent thread on page one called "Not quite threadworthy - low stress strategy questions".

I mean yeah...fold?

vs that rake fold

Yeah probably this. But with the small raise size this is kinda polarized to AA and b.s. so we might be able to play on.

I imagine you could set up 1,000 examples where QJ offsuit, OOP is a fold. It’s not a lock to play that hand, even with position.

I know (and you know) this is trivial, but I wonder how much of the population is playing this hand?

I suppose you would have made a straight and stacked 2 pair or something.

It isn't generally a playable hand. You don't want to play unsuited broadway below AT/KJ, because you make losing dominated hands.

The discount doesn't make up for being OOP. However, if it was a straddle to 4, I would call. So the call maybe loses $2.

It’s not worth calling in a time charge game.

Calling raises in the blinds with unsuited broadway cards especially in LL/HR games is a topic that might deserve its own subforum imo.

You don't want to play unsuited broadway oop in low limit high rake games, especially for a raise, below AK because you make losing dominated hands.

FYP

You changed my quote. Not sure you are allowed to do that. I certainly wouldn't say AQo is unplayable. I didn't say anything about rake. You may think I was wrong implying KJo/ATo could be playable, but that isn't the right way to present it.

To some extent, you can limp behind or call small raises multiway with marginal hands, expecting opponents to make a lot of mistakes postflop. I don't think you are quite getting the price for this hand though.

Pretty comfortable fold regardless of rake, you generally don't want to be defending too often in spots like this where being oop to multiple opponents matters more than the 1bb discount.
edit: vs loose passives I'd be pretty chill with folding AQo here as well.

Probably 3betting aqo. Lol folding it

Both loose passives call your 3bet because their raising range is tiny, you're now oop in a bloated pot with AQo vs a passive player holding a top 3% hand and a third player that has position on both of you. Have fun.

3betting is easily the worst of your choices tbh.
