USA Goes to War Against Iran

Time for a dedicated thread to the war.

How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?

I know that. They're Persians. I guess it's a good thing then that he's launching and/or supporting wars on places other than Iran as well! No surprise that a gross reactionary freak like you has forgotten Palestine.

Donald Trump, classic friends of Arabs. GOTCHA!

oh, btw, most of those prayer meetings to which I refer LITERALLY HAPPENED BEFORE OUR FIRST LAUNCH ON IRAN.

Paleswhat?

Wasn't Jordan Peterson saying the opposite recently?

I think he was telling Richard Dawkins that having the concept of a dragon makes it a real thing.

I could be wrong, I am not up on the latest in dipshit epistemology.

I suspect you're not up on the latest anything in Philosophy.

I thought dragons existing in the real world made them real

Lucky for him there hasn't been much progress the last 1000 years.

Quite so. I've found most philosophy after Heidegger completely unsatisfactory if not unnecessary.

I've read quite a bit of Zizek because he's entertaining and can write. That's actually why I like Neitzche, the cat could write. What he wrote is secondary to me.

This is why Kant is useless to me, it's unreadable in any literary sense.

I'm a purely literary casual philosophy fan, what they are currently doing in the (leftist Indoctrination Camps?) is of zero interest.

The last philosopher I'm really up on is Deleuze.

A Prolegomena to Any Future Metaphysics is quite readable but Kant wrote that specifically because even he knew A Critique of Pure Reason is unmanageable and he wanted people to get the ideas.

I earned a B.A. in Philosophy, and I endorse this message.

In the early 20th century, Alfred North Whitehead observed that the body of work in Western Philosophy are mere 'footnotes to Plato.'

Virtually anything that can be deemed progress or even interesting would be within so-called Analytic Philosophy in my opinion.

It’s funny because the philosophers that Amplify named as some of the best I think are some of the most overrated. But I guess it depends on whether you think philosophy should seek clarity or whether you think philosophy is a literary genre.

So, we start another 60 day clock?

It's even arguable whether or not Nietsche should be classified as being a philosopher.

If I remember correctly, C.E.M Joad's classic Guide to Philosophy did not include a discussion ofNietsche.

A more recent example is whether or not Ayn Rand is a philosopher.

Years ago, there was a professor of Philosophy at my alma mater Cal State Fullerton whose syallabus was mostly the writings of Ayn Rand. I don't think any of the other profs had any interest in Rand at all.

Exactly! I don't give a **** if they are a philosopher or a bartender, I care if they can write!

Ideas are a dime a dozen. Can you put a ****ing sentence together?

I read plenty of Ayn Rand, guess which one she is.

An outstanding novelist to many.

An outstanding philosopher to almost nobody.

I think The Fountainhead was written to live out her fantasies of being sexually dominated by an architect.

Copilot Search Branding

I even noted I could be wrong about that book. Nietsche has a very small footprint in the book apparently.

I have never understood people who believe she was a good writer. I don't think that is true at the macro level or the individual sentence level.

Operation Z-Day should be taking place any day now.

Who even knows anymore. The oil price analysts are just rolling dice at this point.

Question for you: if American citizens were federally taxed an additional 15% to fund wars, would you still be a clapping seal for this war?

That’s a tough question but don’t you think you should stick to the current events rather than conjuring up some hypothetical situation? I thought we were going to be embroiled in WW3 with millions dead and thousands of bombed school children by this point.

What's tough about it? If people want war, they should want to fund it.

As for WWIII, we're still in the infancy stage. The last world war took two years of isolated conflicts before metastasizing into a world war, so just settle down; your hopes of thousands of bombed children could be come a reality.

All that's needed is for China to move on Taiwan and it's on.

Germany and Russia are already in a mobilization race...

What do you mean by move on Taiwan? If China invaded Taiwan youd likely have an enormous death count that isnt comparable to Russia going in on Ukraine. A super packed group sensitively tied to a fragile infrastructure all has to be deemed worth it from a leader less of a lunatic than Putin.

...also, Germany is strengthening for defense. Russia is burning through their ****.

...also, 23 million Taiwanese arent going to want to voluntarily convert into a far shittier way of life for the prefferences of a few overpowered old aged dictators that can negatively risk their livelihood. I.

It feels super ambitious that SPY is up 11% in a month and oil is 98 a barrel with some level of it being due to continued "talks" of negotiations that hasn't really produced or accomplished **** but here we are. I really want to short SPY and shorting is dumb.

But I would say that if Bush jr was president, he'd be far more likely to have amassed about 500k troops by now during this lull and we'd already be in a recession.

Iran says it is reviewing new US proposal after sources say sides closing in on deal[/B]

"We will close this very soon. We are getting close," said the source from Pakistan. A Pakistani source and another source briefed on the mediation confirmed information initially reported by the U.S. media outlet Axios about a proposed 14-point, one-page memorandum that would formally end the war.

The memorandum would be followed by discussions to unblock shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, lift U.S. sanctions on Iran and agree curbs on Iran's nuclear programme, the sources said.
