1/2/5: Is it a leak to flat 77 preflop in this spot?

1/2/5: Is it a leak to flat 77 preflop in this spot?

$600 eff

UTG straddle $5, UTG1 🐳 limps, CO 🐳 limps, BTN unknown middle aged Asian guy makes it $30, Hero flats 77 in SB knowing the two 🐳 will 100% come along, both 🐳 call as expected

If we fold here, what are our flats in this spot? I know we shouldn’t have any from SB in theory but being low stakes and two whales in the pot, feels egregious to just fold or 3b here.

Flat is really good here. Good if you get a 4-way single raised pot. You are printing playing 77 4-ways.

I'm going to say this is false but it's fine-ish to flat yes.

It’s all about the ‘situations’ and you have a good read of it here. It’s a pretty big open, so I would not call it a nitty fold. However, the implied odds & hit or miss simplicity of playing this hand probably make it a decent gamble.

I think most of the 3bet or fold theory has to do with acting first. It’s hard to play hands OOP, so you play a strong range fast and deny equity. But I think even the solvers will flat the small pairs.

I would be worried about one or both folding to cold call $30. That's a pretty big raise to call and you don't hit a set ~88% of the time.

Not flatting would be a leak. Playing 77 HU here is usually -EV, but not a big disaster.

It's kinda mid. We have two players left to act behind us. They could squeeze. We have no reads on BTN, so raising is dicey.

I dunno. If the game is playing loose passive, and / or if we think BTN is TAG, it's probably fine. If BTN is LAG or the game has lots of 3B/squeezing, I'd prefer to 3B, not flat.

Call is about 25-28%. You’re getting exactly 3-1 after rake. OOP v two whales & an unknown MAAG. $600 eff.

Yeah flat’s fine, fold not terrible either.

$600 effective, you're putting in 5% of your stack. You really have to know the other 2 will call and not squeeze. If both call, you would call $30 to see $90. 3-1 expressed odds. You will need to win about $150 to break even if you are purely setmining. With $120 in the pot, it should not be a problem to win over $150 over 3 streets

Not my favorite spot, but mostly in game I would just flat. Folding is tight, but not unreasonable.

I wouldn't 3 this hand. Could fold in a 2/5 game this shallow if you think there is a good chance of a 3! or that the limpers won't call.
