jesus came back

i think that is the lesson. not that he did anything particular in his life. but simply that he decided to come back.

there is real wisdom there.

How's the micro steaks grind on Bet rivers going you make it out of the cheeseburger realm yet?

made it to ~1.4k bankroll playing nl10.

if you take alphaville's forever young and replace young with cheeseburgers you would have the lyrics to my life.

Life comes at you fast. If you don't stop to take a look around once in awhile, you might miss it. - probably from ferris beuhler's day off

I supplied the quote , "burn and turn" to the yearbook committee for our senior year "class quote", but those idle minded apes went with the extremely vapid and not telling-of-the-times movie quote.

I lost roughly 25 pounds from my peak in January. I did this because I got insanely mad at myself for not keeping my diets together in the past.

I'm celebrating today with a piece of fried chicken and a mozzarella stick from Dave's Hot Chicken, to honor the memory of the sweet mathematician named Sklan.

I started playing poker live again at a local charity. It runs 7 days a week and I'm getting acclimated and ramping up my play. It's $1/2 most of the time, but it gets deep and the players are all terrible and degenerate.

Last night I sat with a group of college aged friends (4) who I was initially concerned about. Kids from UofM are usually pretty smart. They were joking about solvers and GTO and other poker vernacular so I'm like uhhh table change plz. But as the night went on their leaks became visible and none of them were attempting to bully me. Later in the night it effectively turned into a 2/5 game.

The Grocery store opens just after the crack of dawn. My drive there will literally be into the land of the rising sun.

I like shopping at open or close, to avoid the crowds. I have noticed that some mass shootings happen in the morning but not too early, it would be stupid to carry out if virtually nobody is in the store. Think like a serial killer, eat like a champion is my motto.

I bought a flower (dry herb) vaporizer from Planet of the Vapes.

My lungs are not in amazing shape from smoking so much, this will help.

It cost about $150. Got a bubbler attachment and In ~ 20 mins I'll be flying.

is this the kind that fills up a bag you can seal off and carry around with you? those are amazing

That would be a VOLCANO , or similar. Those are top notch.

I got the LOBO (named after Rebecca) for $150. It's great. I am ripped.

To breathe some life back into this blog, I am going to WLOG my live poker adventures for this week!

Here's my tentative plan:

Wednesday night: Grind
Thursday night: Grind
Friday night: Grind
Saturday night: Grind

I would like to show up to 3/4ths of these sessions, and win $600 or more total.

It's actually a rididulously good game. It usually starts with 3 tables, people rebuy like crazy, and by the end of the night everyone is deep on one table and it plays like a $2/5 game.

I took a combustion rip tonight for old time's sake and it tasted gross.

Crossing my fingers that I will get used to the new way of doing things.

recombinant DNA

parasitic evolutionary metamorphasis

take me home tonight

the packaged-with-a-bow, pithy, advertisement and such, "writers", will be phased out by A.I. super fast and i believe this is already happening widespread.

there's a local radio ad that is astonishingly polished in terms of its jingle. they have now released like 10 different versions that are becoming weirder... not just topical, but the syntax sounds like a normal human didn't come up with.

if sandy koufax didn't get injured, and was a born writer instead of a baseball player, he might be me.

i don't make money with my written word. and if i did, i would not be worried in the least. A.I. does the opposite of impressing me with the bones of its creativity.

you know you're good when you can break many of the rules and end up with something extra polished.

a few posts ago i wrote that i was "literally driving into the land of the rising sun" - going grocery shopping in the morning.

I asked ai about the usage and it said it was effectively poor! another classic misuse of the word literally.

i further probed and it confirmed it was perfect deadpan humor.

i obv don't live near japan

i think there are crossover comparisons between writing and driving, especially good writing and good driving.

you setup the joke by convincing the recipient that something else is happening, in the written sense - lines of pristine thought.

in the driving sense, something along the line of driving perfectly straight at a good speed.

most people can drive a car pretty well. whether you want to accept that or not, it is true.

most people can speak pretty well.

most people cannot write very well.

because it goes far beyond following the already problematic rules.

because for whatever reason, people may not be great at slowing down their thinking, which is at its heart the engine of a good written word.

if you could slow your car down to 1mph, you would never get into an accident.

when you're a good writer, people will laud you for it.

it is the finest form of art. it speaks into one's soul.

It's nice when everything is in balance, and in its right place.

I just picked up pocket kings in the small blind.

CO 3x, Button Call.

Hero 15.5x

CO jams.

Queens.

Jack high board.

Next hand, AA.

Cutoff 3x, Hero 14x, Cutoff call.

QThh5x, Check, Hero bets 22.5x, call.

7x, Check, Hero jams, villains calls with A5.

Hero wins again.

A tiny quantum device aboard the ISS just monitored Earth’s magnetic field for 10 months straight.

And it’s powered by defects inside a diamond.

Scientists built a cube-sized quantum sensor using “nitrogen-vacancy” centers inside diamond crystals — atomic imperfections so sensitive they can detect tiny magnetic changes from orbit.

No giant satellite.
No massive power system.

Just a 420-gram quantum instrument surviving the harshness of space.

This could completely change:
• space weather forecasting
• navigation systems
• Earth monitoring
• future satellite swarms
• quantum sensing in orbit

What’s fascinating is that the future of space technology may depend less on bigger machines…

and more on controlling matter at the atomic level.

The quantum era is starting to leave the laboratory.
