In another thread I saw these comments:

apparently, donna harris was replaced a week ago by a former shift manager from the venetian. why isn't there a thread discussing this?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this topic. I wonder what people think of the change.
Also, their Facebook page mentions the lower rake for limit games. Here's a few quotes:

The lower rake is a great deal and I wanted to help get the word out. Unfortunately, the 8-16 game had died by the time I got there in the evening, and there were five names on the list when I left. There was also a list for 30-60 but only one name on it. On the other hand, today is only the second day with a $2 rake. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference the lower rake makes with their limit games.

It's worth stopping by there and checking out the wynn PLO games.
You can get on the list with poker atlas and play it sometime. The room is really nice, and they have good action there similar as to Aria.
I didn't ask them about the player's accounts in Vegas, but in Macau it was very standard to leave and get chips from the cage at the Wynn,
Is this a good place to have a few beers and play PLO?
For 1/2 PLO?
5 / 5 PLO?
Friendly / Chill usually?
The last trip I made in Vegas, and I was at Wynn they had 2 games going:
1. 5 5 10 that runs with a straddle 95% of the time.
2. 1/2 PLO 5 dollars to bring it in.
Have they ever thought about putting in a middle stakes game? Like a 3/6 game or a 2/5 with a rock or anything like that?
Because that's a big jump going from 1/2 up to 5 5 10 20 - And the "5 5" game isn't running every day there all year.
Nice Poker room.
Cheers!
The Wynn is now offering 5/5/10 PLO. The rock has been cancelled.
Optional Straddles are allowed UTG.
Everyone is going to copy Aria when it comes to PLO to try and poach the player pool.

Why have 5/5/10 with optional 20 straddle? Just make it 5/10/20 (no rock!) without the option to straddle. Then the game is perfect, and you have a chance to steal PLO action from Aria.
I think 5/5/10 optional straddle has some upsides:
NO rock
5/5/10 is there as a possible mid stakes game
I'm guessing it would run with a straddle 90% of the time but if not, it's good to have an intermediate limit.
The best games are the ones where some people straddle, and without asking the whole table to do it.
5/10/20 with OPTIONAL straddle (floor needs to come down hard on anyone trying to coerce others to put the 40 on!) would be the nuts.
What if they try to coerce others to put the straddle on at the 5 5 10?
I think they should just ban the straddle at that point at 5 5 10 and offer a higher limit like 5/10/25
From what I saw before, it's going to be a lot of regs there trying to coerce the straddle, unless things changed.
Does anyone know how strict Wynn are with their poker room rate / hours played? Last time I went in a of peak period I played 8-10hrs a day but it wasn’t in a time I would like to be somewhere else (I.e another property for WSOP). I can get a great rate almost always here and really only wanna stay here but kind of want to skirt on the hours otherwise it’s insanely expensive.

Anyone have any insight on this? I am wondering the same thing.
For regs who have played the 5/10 or 10/20 NL games recently. What are your thoughts on the BB ante + no straddle structure, now that they've had that implemented into their games for a while? Pros and cons?
Still haven’t heard and it’s not likely something I will bring up with host. I know you have to provide your card in/out of games to track it and it is a little ambiguous give you can play for abit then leave for a couple hours if you get picked up - do they swipe you out? Last time I went where I played 40hrs over a 3 day period I had surpassed the amount needed to get the rate but no idea if they are looking closely - if you find out lmk and vice versa I’ll DM you too. In my last trip I was winning the first 24hrs and would’ve liked to have quit, but then ended up buried & was ‘forced’ to play because I didn’t want a a further $7-800/night bill lol
Might be worth asking on Reddit too or an anon phone call π
I was told by a former dealer that Wynn used to allow button straddle. Do they still allow button straddle? (If yes, I would love to give them all my grinding hours!)
5/5/10-rock/20 PLO used to run at Wynn most days. After the changes to 5/10/20-rock at Aria and 5/5/10 at Wynn, it seems like Wynn struggles to get a 5/5/10 going a lot of days. If Wynn allowed button straddles at 1/2 and abandoned their hopes on the bigger game, I wonder if they could take a big market share away from 1/2 at Aria.
Why not offer up a 2/5 with optional straddle for a mid-stakes option? If the 5 5 10 game isn't running very often, hardly ever, offer more options.
5/5/10 was supposed to bridge the huge gap between 1/2 and 5/10/20. But people aren't playing it that much.

No it didn't. Outside of wynn series and wsop it would go a couple of days a week at most. I much prefer Wynn to Aria and have had many weeks long Vegas trips where I barely played at Wynn bc the 5/5 rock game rarely went at Wynn.
Ryan Kirk, you better step it up and make more changes at Wynn if you want to take PLO market share away from Aria.
