Australia - options for Australian Players
In case you missed it - the Australian federal government recently banned online poker.
Does this effectively give us the same level of access as Americans?
what are our options?

Anyone tried playing on SwC or CoinPoker? I usually play 4-6 tables so looking for at least decent action for 5-card PLO.
Any suggestions please?
Coinpoker consistently has 2 or 3 tables at 25/50 50/1 during Aus times, action increases during EU peak times.

If it's against the site's rules in some way, it might work until you try to cash out. At that stage, the **** could well hit the fan - whatever anyone says, here.
You should always ask the Customer Service of the relevant site when you have any question about their rules. If they say it's ok in writing, you're probably good to go. If they say no, and you don't care if you're breaking their rules, then at least you'll know you're risking being banned and having your money confiscated if you decide to play anyway.
Haven't played poker for a few months. Went to log into my Ignition account which has a few thousand dollars in it. Only to see the site has been blocked by the ACMA. This is the first time Ignition has been officially blocked by Australia.
Emailed ACMA, they replied saying my funds are gone. Great
Here is their email:
Thank you for contacting the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).
The ACMA requested the website be blocked because the service was found to be providing or advertising illegal online gambling services to people in Australia.
Typically, these services have been the subject of numerous complaints to the ACMA from consumers raising issues about poor player treatment including being denied access to their winnings or the funds in their accounts. The operators were given the opportunity to withdraw from the Australian market, and close customer accounts in an orderly way but continued to provide these services illegally.
We understand that you have an account with that service and may have funds that you wish to withdraw. The ACMA does not have any powers under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 to assist you in recovering funds. You may wish to contact the provider of this service directly regarding this issue.
The ACMA's role under the Interactive Gambling Act does not include taking action on behalf of the Australian users who have deposited money with a gambling site. The ACMA is not able to assist in recouping money from online gambling services.
If a gambling service is licensed in Australia, you may want to contact the relevant state or territory gambling regulator. Contact details for these services are available online at Check if a gambling operator is legal.
The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 prohibits certain interactive gambling services from being provided or advertised to Australians, for example:
online casino style games, pokies, 'in-play' sports betting and scratchies
certain online wagering services without a licence issued by an Australian State or Territory.
The ACMA may investigate valid complaints about the provision or advertising of those services to Australians.
Please note that we are unable to take complaints over the phone. You may make a complaint using the ACMA's interactive gambling complaint form.
Your complaint must include enough information for the ACMA to investigate, for example:
the internet address (URL) of the gambling service
why you think the gambling service is an illegal interactive gambling service (it is an online casino, or it is a wagering service without a relevant licence, etc).
for advertisements: where and when you saw the advertisement (broadcast details or internet address if it was online)
You can remain anonymous when you complain to the ACMA if you wish, or you can provide a pseudonym if you like. If no contact details are provided, the ACMA will not be able to contact you if further information is required.

Not quite.

You can at least try to withdraw. If Ignition won't let you, it would be worth letting other players know.

I think you just need to change your DNS settings. Google it and the instructions will appear at the top. Super common.
I have no problem logging in to Ignition or anyother poker site (I can't play on the obious ones, but I can on Ignition and Coinpoker)
