2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
What’s the news on Henry ?
I don’t think anything specifically. The people just love him, especially casuals. I’m guessing he will keep inching higher.
Haha I’ve been mixing him in, but will probably end up underweight and burned, per usual.
I prefer Chase Brown and probably Hampton, Saquon, and Walker. I’d take him over Achane and have been mixing him over Rice/London and Bowers on some teams.
But I mostly just follow ADP and focus more on combos for the first 3-4 rounds. Outside of JJ, still fading him for the most part lol. And light on CD too.

Underdog and Draftkings prices must be so different . Saquon goes early 2nd and Henry goes late 2nd / early 3rd .
I've done 3 drafts since schedule release. Henry has gone near the 1/2 turn in all of them. I just figured it was because of the matchup vs CIN in W17.
Nice!
How often are you guys working backwards when you draft?
Ha, I drafted my first Puppy-Nabers team earlier at 22. Still felt too expensive
Haha, yeah, 22 probably is. 28 probably still is too. But my pick was in a Puppy as well, and I haven't seen him drop that far once, so liked it from the uniqueness standpoint with the contest at 70%.
I also started that team Puka/London, so that made it more palbable.
The Chase on Chase week 17 war.
I'm not going to worry about individual player exposures anymore except for the first 3 rounds (15% cap). Instead, I'll be looking at the combo ownership of that player and my first 5 picks. As long as they aren't paired with two of those first 5 picks > 30%, then I can draft them.
Like, I have 23% Malik in the Puppy, but I don't have > 30% of him with any of my first 5 picks.
However, I also have 23% Andrews, but he's overly paired with my first 5 picks (especially QB1), so I wont' be drafting him in this one.
Then for each new timebox, I'll be fading 3 of my top 5 most stacked teams from the previous contest. So in the Puppy2, maybe I'll completely fade MIA, BAL, and CAR.
I think this is an example of why I started to work backwards in a lot of drafts.
I know I want my last 2 picks to be Gesicki and Douglas, which means picks 180/181 have to be RBs. Which then completely frees up how I draft them. I can take 2 RBs close to ADP. Reach on one or both. Doesn't really matter.
I guess I think about it intuitively from what I don't want to be drafting at the end on a team. But it's not something I specifically focus on. Meanwhile, it's finally starting to happen.
Spoiler
Nice maybe I can finally start drafting him haha
(I did have 5% in pre draft unfortunately)
congrats jimmy, your 42% rodgers is live
Anyone know of a good site you can input league rules and it gives you suggested auction values for a start up dynasty league? If not, how would you go about valuing players for a 14 team league with super flex, start 2 rb, 3wr, 3 flex, 2 TE compared to a 12 teamer with normal starting roster?
omg, startup auction. That is going to take ages
That was my first thought when I heard it was a slow auction draft and a player isn’t sold until nobody bids on a guy for 12 hours. However, I have come to find out that to start every team can nominate 2 players and once one of your nominations are sold then you nominate another guy. In theory, there should always be 28 players on the auction block at all times. Later in the draft we are going to bump it to 3 nominations a team.
I’m just trying to value position values and depth. It’s best all with .2 per rush attempt, .2 per completion, ppr for wr, 1.25 ppr for rb and 2 ppr for te. With 14 teams and a superflex and start 2 te it seems like QBs and TEs are super valuable. Start 2 rb, 3 wr & 3 flex so it’s a deep starting roster.
