Live 1-2
UTG folds
EP folds
MP fish raises to 15
HJ fish calls 15
CO fish calls 15
BTN nit calls 15 (800 stack)
SB folds
BB [Hero] calls 15 with AQ85 (suited to the A, 1k stack)
Pot 76
Flop QQ5 rainbow
Hero checks
MP checks
HJ checks
CO checks
BTN bets 30
Hero raises to 105 (I have the nuts, so I didn't really think about not raising)
MP folds

I now realize how vulnerable I am OOP on almost every turn card.

I'd rather just lead flop when next 3 to act are fish and the pfr BTN is a nit. Flop is gonna check through so often which is bad for us
As played turn is terrible for us. If he's truly a huge nit I don't mind folding. I might also call turn and fold river if I don't think he's got the balls to bomb river wo KQ

I like leading the flop as well. And if I get raised by Qxxx or 55xx, I have an easy 3-bet.
I've been in this situation before where I've check-raised someone on the flop with a vulnerable nut full house when deep. Then I check-called them on turn and river when they improved to a bigger full house on a middling turn card.
This K is literally the worst card in the deck (any non-A broadway is pretty bad). I was torn between just folding now, or calling the turn and check-folding on the river.
I love check-raising the flop if it's HU or 3-way. But super multiway, I think check-raising might be overplaying a little bit.
Checking is good. When it checks around we often have over 90% equity and letting fish turn a draw or under full is a good result. If someone has a queen we have 2 good options. I sometimes check call flop, check raise turn, but raising right away is good too.
As played I just fold turn against a nit.
Well, except for another queen. π€ Sorry, it just reminded me of the final Hellmuth-Chan hand, when Johnny called for βany high cardβ not actually wanting a king.
OTTH. Ugh. I guess Ciaffone, Badger & Berman shouldβve emphasized position more in their presolver writings. /snark Could it possibly be a fold pf, even suited to the ace? I count NINE cavities, the most possible, right? The sim has it at 20.3% facing 20-30-40-15 ranges.
I do like leading for 75 right into three fish and a nit, itβs hard to put you on Q5, though obviously this result doesnβt change. I think you can just fold here. Would he really bet AQJT?
And sorry again, but this also reminds me of something else:

Switching to PLO 3 years ago after having played NLH for 20+ years, one of the biggest frustrations in the transition is how face-up your hands are in PLO sometimes. When I check-raise flop multiway and check the turn, it's so obvious that I have Q5xx and not KQ5x. And in my mind, that gives everyone with Qxxx free reign to try to blow me off my hand. I have no idea who actually pulls the trigger though.
I feel like I have to split my opponents into two categories: those that habitually turn Qxxx into a bluff, and those who never bet without KQxx. It's just like those who never bluff on flush board and those who habitually bluff with the dry A. (FWIW, I've learned that it's usually a good idea to bluff the dry A on a flush board in NLH but almost never a good idea in PLO).
So check sometimes with KQ. Now you’re not face up.
