Casino gives free cruise to slot player

A friend got something from a casino saying you have to show up a certain day and you get a free cruise for two. Called and they said it was $100 each. I assume they just give these to certain slot and table game players they consider good "customers". Also assume there is gambling on the cruise. Has anyone heard of this? Is this legit?

Not sure this is the right forum, but I couldn't find one for slot gambling, etc.

iirc the cruises are "free" but there are fees and other stuff they try to upsell you into. search LCP and Venues for "free cruise" and you'll find some hits. This URL might work too: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/searc...

I know someone that's gotten a bunch of comped cruises, but they were always from the cruise line itself due to gambling on the ship. He claimed the cruise lines don't track pit play as well as major casinos, and that if you just, "act like a baller, " (his words) the pit bosses have the authority to throw free cruises at you. I suspect he was downplaying his losses though.

I realize this doesn't answer your specific question, but I would assume it's legit and you just have to read the fine print. Like you might be responsible for port fees, taxes, and gratuities, which can add up to a fair amount depending where you're going. As long as the deal is coming from a legit casino I would guess it's basically for real though.

A lot of cruise lines offer pretty amazing fares these days anyway. The business model seems to be to get a captive audience onboard, then make all their money with upcharges (expensive drinks, art, jewelry, gambling, shore excursions, etc.). All your basic meals and stuff are covered though so it can be pretty economical if you don't get carried away buying extras.
