Live ~ Flop nuts oop

5/5/10 ~ 9 handed timed rake

Villain is borderline whale/maniac aka huge aggrofish. 3bet often including random trash(3578). Very little fold button. Seen him cold4bet/call jam 77xx trash vs fish. He's on a roller coaster ride. Been stacked a few times, then stack a few others as well, now has 6k+++ stack
He plays faceup when he checks.

Eff 1000

V opens 40 blind in co
Sb calls
Hero in bb clicks it to 175 w/AAJQdd
V calls

Pot 400
Flop KT9r
Hero???
We should just bet big? Then jam all turns?

Or check range here?
I think Villain only checking marginal hands. Betting bluffs/top of range.

Villain is also very sticky, maybe betting is best?

Pot it like Spicoli

Check. If it checks through he was drawing dead anyways. I don’t think either player has a big advantage on this board so we don’t need to check range.

Potting would be a huge mistake imo, we don’t want him to fold.

I can think of a lot of free turn cards this villain as described would love to see. One word he wasn’t described as was stupid. Hero 3bets then whistlechecks (hey I just invented a new poker term) KT9r, that doesn’t smell fishy? And if he has anything all the money’s going in anyway.

I am basing this entirely on the description of villain and his stack size.

We would check range heads-up vs a good player. Unblocking all pairs and a good board for a 3b caller to stab

We can do anything here vs whales. I generally check OOP in hopes whales will stab in multi-way but in most games they will even check hands as strong as KK with a Q or J blocker so id rather just lead small-half pot. We can balance this as well with hands like AKQQ and other hands like KKJx.

Fishy? You betting with AA85? We have plenty of hands that don’t like this flop.

“…very little fold button…also very sticky…”

He’s a whale/maniac on a roller coaster ride with (for now) a huge stack. Why not just play abc? He’s not folding JT73 with bdfd’s but he’s probably not betting it, and AA85 is probably 60+% against his range.

Spoiler
Show

Hero bets 300
Villain tank tank tank folds
And said he folded a gutshot!!! He wanted to call but the bet was probably too big
Asked if I had a set of KK!?!?
I thought ppl always put you on AA when you 3bet?!?

We pushed him off a gutter that woulda let us stack him. If we’re going to bet we have to bet small.
