Mason Malmuth's Thoughts on COVID vaccines (Warning: O/t thread)
Since the Haxton thread was so conveniently locked, and this was the last comment, I just wanted to draw attention to i
Between the start of the pandemic and the end of the public health emergency, the U.S. recorded well over 1.2 million excess deaths compared to historical baselines. people who make sure the truth prevails priorities are fully "in whack". Greg Raymer is a national treasure.
Were there more suicides? Was there an increase in obesity and weight related illnesses? I'm not saying covid didn't kill people but rather the government response was overreach. Were the excess deaths preventable and to what degree are we willing to give up our freedoms to save lives? Do we want to be China? Obviously the government could have prevented even more excess deaths if they outlawed tobacco and alcohol and junk food but they didn't. Big daddy government isn't always the solution.
Limon do you think our government should have responded more authoritatively like China for example? How would you categorize the government shutdown of schools and everything else? Was it the correct response giving what we knew at the time but the wrong move in hindsight or was it still the right move and we saved lives by keeping kids out of school and the cost to their social development or whatever was worth the number of lives you think we saved? I'm just curious because I think the government reacted too severely and I consider it overreach.
I agreed with the great barrington declaration when I read it. That seemed like a better response.
Spoiler
For some reason people get upset at me for taking that position, it's weird.
No, it isn't. Especially when the vaccine first came out, when the versions of Covid out there were much deadlier than the versions typically infecting people today. Again, this isn't fact, it is still your opinion. And I believe this opinion is wrong.
RFK Jr has clearly stated that the death rate from all causes of those who took the vaccine went up. At lest that's what I have read. But he's a member of the Trump administration, so I'm sure that drives you crazy.
But the real question is what do the statistics show and why is he saying this?

Oh well if RFK Jr said it I guess that settles matters. Case closed, Mason solved everything boys.

Well if the former heroin abuser who constantly lies about vaccines, drove his ex-wife to suicide, and eats raw roadkill says so, then who can dispute that?
Because hes an idiot. What statistics?
Damn, others beat me to it. But yes, this is in reference to RFK.

IDK, maybe because he's a ****ing quack?

There was no such thing as "a government reaction". The reactions were purely local. The government is by and for the people. I live in los angeles, many would consider the lockdowns here overdone, i thought they were fine and never really had any problem with them. I felt a duty to my friends and neighbors to do what i could to follow the guidelines set by the community i live in and help t keep people safe with the limited information that was available. The hospitals in los angeles were overrun with massive tent triage centers in the parking lots. I could literally drive 40 minutes away to Simi Valley and be in a different world. Most of the businesses and people there operated like there wasn't a pandemic by the end of 2020, many months before los angeles.
RFK Jr's (current :p) Wikipedia page includes:
Since 2005, Kennedy has promoted vaccine misinformation and public-health conspiracy theories, including the chemtrail conspiracy theory, HIV/AIDS denialism, and the scientifically disproved claim of a causal link between vaccines and autism. He has drawn criticism for fueling vaccine hesitancy amid a social climate that gave rise to the deadly measles outbreaks in Samoa and Tonga. Kennedy is the founder and former chairman of Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine advocacy group and proponent of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.
I fear Mason has gone down the rightwing propaganda echochamber. No one outside of this would ever cite RFK, jr. Unless for tips on dismembering animals.
lol

Oh I bet he did

Well at lest you confirmed it through your own independent review

Irrelevant, but glad you couldn’t help yourself

Yes it was mostly state and local governments, not the fed. Thinking that locking down beaches was the correct move still is some next level cope. Does anyone else wanna double down on that position like Limon here? Lol. Cops waiting on the beach for a solo guy surfing the waves to dispense justice when he comes in is what you're doubling down on. That's crazy to me the levels of mental gymnastics you fear mongers engage in. Your liver and other organs must be riddled with fatty spots from your alcoholism but you're scared of breathing around other people still. The boot is so far down your throat, don't worry the shoe polish will off the virus.

Of course since you brought up RFK Jr. everyone who disagrees simply resorts to ad hominem attacks instead of engaging with the issue. Critical thinking is beyond most of these parrots ability. Look at the responses lol.

If you think RFK Jr is a legitimate voice there is no issue to discuss with you
Now if you wanted to debate how best to cut off a raccoon’s dong and study it for whatever you think science is [strike]then I’d listen to RFK Jr[/strike] you should be put in a ****ing asylum
if his last name weren’t Kennedy and Joe Rogan (another ****ing gem) didn’t stan him endlessly for being an INDEPENDENT THINKER WHO DOES HIS OWN RESEARCH he’d be your resident crazy homeless guy who cuts off animal dongs, eats roadkill and [strike]screams[/strike] rambles through his broken voice box about how the government is trying to use vaccines for mind control purposes
God damnit. Its uncanny to me how these morons dont get it.
Most reasonable people (especially younger and healthier) weren't sheltering and adhering to covid guidelines because they were terrified of dying. They weren't social distancing out of fear and following every word Fauchi or others said because "they are sheep".
Most of us (me and those reasonably intelligent and caring) did it because we had common sense to know that it takes everyone to make a difference. Let's all chip in and do our best to stop this virus so others dont die due to a lack of accountability.
Simple, child like analogy:
Its kind of like littering. Throwing that wrapper on the street doesnt make a difference in the grand scheme of things, but if we all go that route? The world becomes pretty shitty place to live.
Its common ****ing sense people. In modern history we hadn't faced anything of this scope so perhaps maybe mistakes were made. Perhaps hospitals, businesses owners, and politicians took advantage of all the extra money floating around...well no ****. There's *******s out there.
Overall, a lot of people tried. Knock the dumbass conspiracy **** off and get over yourself. You're not the smartest guy in the room.
Mason deserves all the **** he gets, hes arrogant.
Sadly...
Lots smart people on this forum, but the trolls come out too. Frustrating to see this **** during the Christmas time of poker.
not antivax in any way. wow, please read. she was simply smart. harris was 100% correct. She made it clear she would only take a vaccine if public health professionals and doctors, such as Dr. Anthony Fauci, recommended it. that trumps word was worth nothing. she was a real leader, following the science. admirable.
vincentvega nailed it.
close the thread and let the new litmus test of sanity be if they ever quote RFK jr for anything except shits and giggles
