Essentially, anyone can make the Finals in theory because anyone can stack a team sufficiently.. This is why players need to make the Finals normally to get props for it.
Lebron obviously didn't do it normally because everyone in the league had normal rosters of 1 franchise player, while Lebron had "super-teams" of 3 franchise players and the preseason favorite for a record 6 straight years (11' to 16')..
However, the standard was for "bron-ball" to barely win 50 games with the preseason favorite, thereby falling to Finals underdog - aka Lebron's weak chemistry underachieved favored talent most years.. The weak chemistry stems from Lebron lowering everyone's assists and increasing their assisted rate (turning everyone into spot-up shooter, aka ball-dominance)..
