J9 2-7 dramaha

Hi all,

20/40 limit mix two unknowns just showed up one is wasted and unclear skill levels. We open J9 low in ep and they call as does a tighter rec in bb.

QT8r flop. Checks to us we bet mp raises btn cold calls bb calls we raise again they all call.

2, pat,2,2. What a game!

Turn A. Checks to us we bet mp raises btn cold calls bb raises to $120 we…?

Thanks,
DT

I forgot to mention the rest of my hand was J9753. Seemed irrelevant but not entirely sure we are ever breaking on flop.

The rest of your hand does matter, at least somewhat. It seems likely you are against another J9, but your J9 could be the lower of the two. They might have JT9xx, or J98xx. Or, they might make even worse after their D2. Certainly they will make a worse J9 more often than one that is better than yours. At least one of these silly rabbits is presumably drawing at a decent low, but they will make worse than you a majority of the time. However, since they are now raising, there is a good chance you are losing the low. I would call down regardless of the river card, and expect to get a quarter most of the time. If you are insanely lucky, they all have a set, and the board doesn't pair the river.

I'm going to be returning to Talking Stick in July, Someone please explain to me what Dramaha is.

I'm going to be returning to Talking Stick in July, Someone please explain to me what Dramaha is.

5 card Omaha Hi with a single draw after the flop, where best five card draw hand takes half the pot.

Dramaha 2-7 is the same thing except best 5 card 2-7 hand takes half the pot.

well, tx for the explanation bur I didn''t understand a word of it.

e.e. what takes the other half of the pot? What do you mean 'single draw'?

So it’s a five card hand game.

Half pot goes to best five card draw hand - ie the five cards in your hand at showdown. This is low though, so best low hand in the hole.

Half pot goes to best Omaha high hand - ie two of your hole cards and three of the five cards on the board

You get five cards, some betting. Flop. Some betting. Draw. Turn. Some betting. River. Some betting. Showdown

tx, that was clear. Player gets single draw for low if I read this right. I'm kind of surprised that there are enough cards playing 9 handed. Hang on a sec. Every player knows whose going high and whose going low. because they. drew seems weird.

It’s a limit game and pretty much everyone will draw something. Since low gets half the pot typically everyone’s starting hand will have to have some low potential. But to your point, it’s only one draw so it’s not super uncommon for a jack to take the low.

It gets a little interesting when you intend to go low but flop something that messes with what you intended to draw

ok TX.
