25K Fantasy Draft Challenge
Here's the scenario: If you had to pick a 25K Fantasy Draft Team (8 players) using only $1 players and non-drafted playe
Ruiko Mamiya - 145,000 chips in the FLO8
and now the fun stuff starts, writing a program to do the scoring
Interesting results in the FLO8:
Ruiko Mamiya (Team Japan & Team Distaff) I played against her in APT Taipei and she was totally shut out so I wondered if she had enough $$$ left for Vegas. She bagged 145,000.
Tom McCormick (Team Tom McCormick) He's 76 now but he's still going strong with 122,000 chips.
Perry Green: even older than Tom McCormick. You all remember him from those ancient WSOP films with Curt Gowdy saying "and there's Perry Green, he plays poker with the Eskimos". He has 110,000 chips.
Casey Hatmaker - 8th in the 5K NLH
One thing different this year at WSOP is no "bag and tag" listings from WSOP.
PokerNews has 102 players with chips in the Stud event but there are only 62 still alive.
Previously, we always knew who was still alive and their exact chip count.
They also used to publish the table draw but that's gone too.
So, all 8 of the Team Early Results players cashed in the 5K NLH.
Team Early Results will have a giant lead that they must maintain for 7 more weeks.
Ruiko Mamiya finished 60th in the FLO8.
Tom McCormick failed to cash.
91 year old Perry Green has made the final 22 in the FLO8 (would he be the oldest bracelet winner if he wins this one?).
Chris Moneymaker (Team Former Champs) looking good in Badugi. 85 left - 84 cash - Chris has 194,000 chips.
I completed coding for the scoring system.
I've completed the database of everyone's picks (us + the 25K Fantasy).
Just need to code the updates between these two databases but.................
HM hasn't updated anything yet. Need at least one complete tournament to get the stats started.
Meanwhile, 25K Fantasy is updating as soon as anyone busts out in the money.
Nobody expects Badugi specialist Chris Moneymaker.
Riess made the $$$ as well. Looks like I made a mistake not picking him over the M.I.A. champs like Koray and Cada. We shall see. It's a long summer!

I see the 95th place finisher in the 1500 FLO8 was Thor Mostoel of the USA.
However, they have his picture and it sure looks like Thor Morstol of Norway.
Is Thor playing incognito so he doesn't have to pay USA tax?

Looked like Poker.Org really screwed up their WSOP freeroll draft.
I went in to make changes on May 27th and it was locked. They say deadline for changes was 28th at 1PM.
I went there now but the leaderboard is locked. That was supposed to be available on the 28th.
Oh well, the only prize worth winning was 1st so nothing lost except my time.

Scrolling through the cashers for Event #1 and I see Ruiko (Team Japan, Team Distaff) cashed in 605th.
Not going to getting many points for that. 1/2 point to be exact.
PS: I am calculating by the exact scoring method as published by 25K Fantasy. There is nothing about rounding points up. In fact there is an example of someone getting 22 1/2 points. But 25K Fantasy is rounding up. Ruiko will get 1 point for this on 25K Fantasy.
I'll have to give up WSOP Live. This morning it wants a QR code. The few times that it bypassed this request it went straight to a TikTok dog video.
I'm obviously too old for this type of thing!
