1/3 ~ tptk facing jam
1/3 ~ tptk facing jam

1/3 ~ tptk facing jam

1/3 ~ 8 handed

V1 ~ huge aggrofish, the whole table is waiting to stack him. He has reloaded at least 3x the time I was there. Betting/stacking off light.

V2 ~ Asian guy in 50s. Just sat down not too long ago, falling asleep.

V1 eff 500
V2 eff 190

Hero in HJ opens 15 w/AJ
V2 in Co calls
V1 in bb calls

3way pot 46
Flop J73
V1 is grabbing chips about to bet, then dealer announces v1 checked. I'm like wtf he didn't check. V1 checked afterwards. He was about to bet 15~20 for real.
Hero bets 20
V2 jams for like 170 total.
V1 folds.
Hero??

Does V1 grabbing chips mean anything? Are we thinking that he was about to donk? If so, what do we think he might have that he folded?

It seems pretty unlikely V1 folded 77 or 33. If he's tilted and splashy, he's probably not folding JX. Maybe he folded a flush draw, or something stupid like 54.

The point is that V1 looking like he was about to donk doesn't help us remove any strong hands from V2's range.

I probably just fold. I'm not worried about folding the best hand when V jams for over 8x our bet size, and almost 3x pot. If he's betting worse, good for him.

More likely he has QQ or better that didn't 3B pre for some reason.

In the future, don't bet here. Just check. Give V1 some rope to stab turn. V2 will tell us what he has one way or the other. We have the Ah in our hand, so we don't need to be too worried about the FDFD. There aren't any OESD's or DGSSD's available.

Pre fine.

Flop just bet 40. Its wet like Sydney Sweeney.

As played pretty standard call. Its not a high five the audience call, but its a easy call.

snap call.

flop could be bet or check. given the CO seems passive betting is probably better. i think you can size up flop here, doubt 7x 88, 99, TT, gutshots, Jx are folding up to 2/3 pot size bet.

Yup. Agreed. Good reasoning.

If you’re the short stack, you would be happy to get it in with your TPTK hand - so it’s a call when the shorty comes at you.

I don’t think he jams with a set, but he would a flush draw. Have to be playing pretty wide to have 2pair - might have the same hand

It's 56bbs, absolute minimum you have outs to runner runner nut flush, and you're going to be ahead a chunk of the time. T9hh, 98hh, 54hh, 7xhh, KQhh. I wouldn't be completely stunned to see V just spewing with KJ or QJ sometimes. He's short-stacked.

Tbh, I wasn't liking the situation in game.
If v1 weren't in hand to begin with, I'd snap fold.
Then I tried to use some logic, if v2 had a big hand 33/77 he'd raise smaller right. Jamming forces v1 and me to fold?
With such utter non sense logic, I called.

V2 shows the nuts JJ !?!?!?
V2 wasn't paying attention, he was falling asleep. Of course he literally wakes up with a monster when he's in the hand.

Fish don't want to face tough decisions on later streets. They fast-play their nutted but vulnerable hands because they don't know how to range opponents. You can't range them by assuming they'd be doing what we'd be doing.

They'll let us off the hook. All we need to do is swim away.

I think I would've tried to find a fold vs that specific player. He's probably only jamming the same hand or better when we have the Ah. Also doubt he jams a flush draw without two overcards to the jack.

It's gonna sound weird, but I think this player type could have all the overpairs here, in addition to all of the sets. That's why I'd want to fold here. Doubt an old guy falling asleep is looking to play much KJ/QJ let alone go all in with it. Normally, I'd be pretty happy here to get it in. Folding is just a hard exploit vs this player.

Snap calling expecting to be up against draws, top pair, and maybe some pocket pairs. If we’re beat it’s kind of a cooler for that stack size.

Without reads on what kind of 50 year old asian man this player is, Its a pretty trivial call imo almost always. I know spewy asians, I know tight asians.

having the Ah sucks because it reduces the number of NFDs they can have. They can have plenty of Jx here that just wants to win the hand that we are ahead of.
