Always nice to be running well at cash to compensate for a slow start to the MTTs. GLGL.

We used to play a game like best/best, except the boards themselves defined which was to be used as the "low" or "high" board. IIRC, we said the board with the highest hand was used to be the high.

Naturally, it often went something like A245....A to make the presumptive low board the high.

I got a couple of doubles to be on 8,000 at the first break and when I got back to the table I saw that we’d be getting a new player in the 4 seat to my left.He lived up to his nickname of the mouth as he never stopped talking. I’ve played with him before and he remembered me and started telling me of all the bad beats he’d just taken in the $10k O8 like I wanted to hear them!

I'm very impressed that he brings his own chair. How does he do that while zooming around on his scooter? Or does he have an assistant to handle the chair?

I am getting very nitpicky here, but just curious to why you are sticking with the Royal Tower rooms when you can get a refurbished Resort Tower for the same price? (at least for me they are always the same price).

I do realize you don't spend much time in your room, but still - I would want the nicer room for the hours I am actually there.

For me Resort Tower is always like $5 per night more, which isn't a big deal but the one time I was over there I didn't really notice any difference In the room or furniture so I just go with whatever is the cheapest.

Not sure how it got there as it was there when I came back from break but he did say he can strap it on to his scooter.

Cripes, he's dangerous enough driving the bare scooter, with a chair strapped to it, it's like steer horns.

I know some of the terminology and strategy from Tony's posts, but I feel like Walton Goggins in the White Lotus most of the time

So I am mixed game player, but I def can't play that mix anymore. I used to play it years ago when it was more like HORSE, with triple draw, and a few other games like Stud Hi/Lo with no qualifier, Badugi, etc Once it got over like 10-12 games I checked out lol. Sick you are able to play all of those - I'm jealous not going to lie! I am sad there are no regular HORSE games thou

So back in the day, when I was super young I enjoyed playing a lot of mixed games ( mostly just limit holdem, stud variants, omaha 8). So at the last wsop, I saw at bellagio out by the sportsbook from the overflow they had a 4-8! Mixed game.

Im like sweet, thats a limit I can afford to fuck around at. But then I saw they had like 12 different games, including several I had no clue how to play, so I realized I stood no chance. I was pretty bummed as usual the smallest mix of any kind is like 30-60? Or Tony's game.

19 games is crazy, pretty awesome you feel confident enough to play all those at that limit. Great to see youre doing well.

Ill be there in 3 days, maybe we'll get that 2+2 game going.

That's the Mixed game festival and it's going on again right now. There's also some lower limit mixed games around town, 8/16, 9/18 and 20/40 but you'll probably find some even crazier games in those than I play in the 80/160

Day 7
Monday June 1st

I wake up earlier this morning and take a walk over to MGM Grand because I know their pool complex opens at 8am. No problem getting in with my MGM Rewards Gold card and there’s not many people there at that time.

The pleasant temperatures in the 70’s of last week are long gone. It’s 80 already and it’s not even 9am.

Unlike the more refined Aria, the pool-side music here is louder and intrusive which is a shame as there’s really no need for it to be that way. Nonetheless I swim and relax for a couple of hours.

Today’s tournament is an interesting mix of the Omaha 8 variants. There’s fixed limit O8 and pot limit Big O and PLO 8.

I’m happy with my table. There’s a couple of spots that I know I’ll be able to get to stack off to me should the right situation occur.

I tread water for 2 hours and have 26k from a 25k starting stack at the first break.

Then I start whiffing flops. When I have all low it comes high and vice versa.

I’m down to only 9k when I get dealt the best hand I’ve seen all day in PLO 8.

At 200/400/400 I open for 1,200 and there’s a couple of callers before a big stack makes it 5k. I go all-in for my 9k and it folds back round to the big stack who calls.

We’re in good shape. AK24 vs 2446

Flop: 7-9-3 (not bad)
Turn: A (we’re scooping now, but villain picks up a diamond flush draw)
River: 2 diamonds. (Literally the only card in the deck where we lose the whole pot. We go from scooping to getting scooped)

GG. I did have a re-buy budgeted for this event but when things like that happen I feel it’s best to keep the powder dry.

Over to the office we go and I arrive just in time as they’re opening a 2nd must move $80 Mix and I get the last seat.

If I’m running ice cold in the tournaments then the cash game is the exact opposite. We’re on fuego! [emoji91]

I can’t really remember the hands I won as there was so many of them. I think I only really lost one hand of note and that was in baduecey against a sticky big blind who drew 3, 3 and 2 and ended up scooping me.

Pappardelle Bolognese from Spago for supper. I ate table side as there was no way I was leaving this game when I was running so good.

Stud high made a full house and got paid off. Badacey made a 6-6 and got paid off. Best-best scooped a 3-way pot with nut low and deuces full. Drawma-dugi made a 6 dugi and a straight and got paid off.

Actually I made a couple of good folds in PLO when my spidey-senses were tingling. Pots you don’t lose just as important, and maybe more so than pots you win. I think I’m getting better in that regard, avoiding trap hands.

Building pyramids in the desert.

I cut myself off at midnight as I was tired but the game was still good.

In $6,000, out $12,000 for a +$6,000 profit after 6 hours.

On deck tomorrow: Probably just a cash game day although there is a $600 PLO that I might fire a bullet into.

Great job in the 80 mix!!

The tournaments will turn for you, I can feel it.

Your cash results indicate your reads and instincts are sharp.

Crushing the cash games! Love to see it - that pasta looks solid for tableside dining that's for sure. MTT's are so tough - especially the four card variants. A few bad runouts in the early/mid levels and you go from having plenty of room to maneuver to being short.

Love it [emoji857][emoji857][emoji857] stacksssssss

By the time I get to town they're only going to be running 1-2 games because you will have busted everyone 😀

Tough go in the tournament, but awesome result in cash. Really liked the chip porn.

Good job saving the tourney run good until I have a piece 😀

Hmm, if that tower is complete, then your stack is more than 12k - it’s 13.4K no?

15x4
10x4
6x4
1k on top?

Good eye. The top tier of 6 stacks are only 19’s though, so pictured is exactly $13,280 but the $1k chip wasn’t won it was someone paying me back and I just put it on top of my stack.

mouthwatering pasta and chip stack pr0n

How do you get that mountain of chips to the cage to cash out? Wheelbarrow?

Lots of racks. I'm used to seeing those at the 100/200 game when I lived in Cali.

Day 8
Tuesday June 2nd

Slept in late today and had a lazy morning in the room doing stuff on the computer. Headed out around lunchtime stopping at Chick-Fil-A for lunch on the way to Bellagio. The high was 99 today and looks like it’s going to go over 100 tomorrow.

I got a seat pretty much straight away in the 3rd $80 Mix game but if yesterday everything went according to plan A then today we were on at least plan C or D.

The game was good but I wasn’t getting many playable hands and the few I was getting turned out to be 2nd best.

Short rib from Prime for dinner tonight.

Uncovered a lurker here playing in the game. Well not so much I uncovered as he told me lol. Charles from Chicago, who was fun to play with and was encouraging drinking, straddles and turning cards face up. My sort of game!

It didn’t help me much though. I was already losing when I lost a PLO pot for the $1,600 cap to Jeff Lisandro. We got it in on the flop. I had top two, he had the flush draw. We went twice and the flush came on both boards.

At least I had a winner in the hockey as Vegas took game one. I had a look at ticket prices for game 3 and 4 and looks like the get-in price is around $800. If I’m not in a tournament maybe I’ll spring for it, we’ll see.

Shortly after I lose the PLO pot to Jeff I get moved to the 2nd game and lose the first pot I play there and am down to around $1k from my original $6k buy-in so I add two more racks.

My fortunes then take a turn for the better when I scoop a sick drawmaha-2-7 pot.

I get dealt 86543 and it’s 5-bet capped 4-ways pre.
Flop: 7-6-3
Oh baby! We flop the straight to go with our made 8-6 low.
It’s capped again 4-ways. WTF does everyone have?
Turn: J
Just a single bet this time and we lose one player.
River: J
I bet and get two folds and scoop this monster without need for a showdown, but my hand is too good and I can’t resist showing it anyway.

All those chippies that the dealer had stacked neatly ready to chop are all coming my way. Over $3,200 in the pot.

We kick on from there and get our head above water. Using the double height stack formation today:

I do eventually get moved to the main game which has been running round the clock now for a week straight but I don’t stay long as it’s late and I’m tired.

In for $10,000, out for $10,500 after 10 hours. I’ll take it after being stuck $5k.

On deck tomorrow: $1,500 Dealers Choice

Mr. CashGameStacker!

What is the prediction for today for NHL? Over/Under # of goals?

Speaking of getting them to the cage, how common is it to color up at the table? Either the dealer wants change in the tray, or a player wanting to break down bigger chip(s)/
