i remember one time i was 16 or 17 years old, still in high school, and i was reading a book written by The david sklansky and he was describing "sklansky dollars" a poker mathematical concept he invented, and i remember thinking "this is just equity. he's describing the expected value, and he's just putting his name on it, on a concept that already exists. that seems unearned". and i was a teenager.
