When to bail on DBBP to not get quartered
Hi all,
Got quartered last night in a pretty big double board bomb pot, was wondering at what point should I have let the hand go (if at all).
Dealt to me AQQT2, not sure of the suits. I am middle Position.
Board 1
A26 two diamonds, i had no diamond draw
Board 2
KJ3r
We all post 4 bb, so it is 32bb to go 8 ways.
UTG pots, I call, BTN calls.
Pretty weak table in general, UTG seems a bit more competent though. Holdem game aside from the bomb pots, I think no one else plays Omaha aside from me.
Pot already 128bb. We are all very deep.
Turn:
Board 1:
A267, still just Diamand draw, no second FD
Board 2:
KJ39, brings in Club draw, I also do not have clubs
UTG continues to pot. I know button is very spewy, he chases gutshots and such. So I call thinking button will call with a bunch of weak draws. Button indeed calls.
I have nuts and blockers to the nuts and redraw to broadway on Board 2, and measly 2 pair on board 1.
Pot 512bb. At this point SPR is slightly above 1, but not by much.
River:
Board 1:
A2675, no flush
Board 2:
KJ39T, no flush
UTG Continues to pot. At this point I think Button is folding. He does not seem happy and I think if I just move my hands Towards my Chips he throws it away.
So calling and getting quartered is a slight loss. Calling 512 to win aprox. 384. Even less considering rake. So worst case a loss of 128bb vs if we do split and I fold, then i am losing 256bb (half the money in the middle). So i have to not get quartered 33% of the time.
I called and he had AQT84, so a straight on top, he actually did not have two pair or sets on top, but he had at least a FD to go with it. We share the bottom board.
Any thoughts? Should I have folded? He could have had me in even worse shape adding a second FD or better two pair / sets.

If we assume he has AQT a lot, how often are we quartered?
OK, I got confused. The button did in fact fold after you called, correct?
Edit: OK, giving hero AQQT2sshhh, UTG AsQTddXY, and spewy BTN K4hh6sT5cc, hero is about 28% on flop 35.5% on turn & 51.7% on river.
So OOP with weak draws def fold flop.
On the flop I did not put him directly on AQT, especially holding two queens. I rather thought KK, JJ, A6, AA.
On the turn I started getting worried that I might end up quartered.
On the top A2 is rarely good, in this case it would have been good under a few outcomes.
I think folding flop is a bit too cautious, and turn is tricky. Exactly the card we wanted comes and it feels like a fold. I was just not ready to let it go. But if folding turn is the play, than surely I should have just folded flop, why call flop and fold a very good turn.
I think having QQ is pretty bad here, not only does it block your wrap but it also blocks your better two pair hits on the other board. Also if anyone else has a Q it's much worse. The A2 on the other board is better than just AQT, but not by a lot and you really don't want BTN in or there's a lot more chance top and bottom 2 pair isn't good.
From what I can see running a few things in PPT you are close to flipping HU vs. random AQT on the flop (winning KJ3 and losing A62), and then behind on the turn without diamonds or clubs.
If he only pots AQT with diamonds on flop, it's worse but not terrible but then it becomes even worse on the turn.
River you have 37% on the non-nut board.

Ill, thereβs a third player in the pot otb, likely weird gutshots & 2pairs, visibly wasnβt happy with the rivers so maybe bdfd.

Yeh, was going with H's read the BTN is folding on river.
Obviously our equity changes on flop/turn due to BTN, and while I said H didn't want BTN in there on flop it's possible he's donating a decent amount on turn (enough it might be worth raising turn, if you know he's calling it off).
Eh, only place I think I can find the fold is flop and I don't love it.
Itβs definitely a little bit coolery.
