day 8
🔴 out of 1.1k wynn 1.5m gtd

max late regged soft spot after a day of study

got 10 hours of sleep today but still had a shitty score so skipped intensive play day today

was glued to wsop stream, been talking and thinking ab a lot of those spots the last 24 hours

feel like its good work

gonna take a shot and reg the 25k tm : )

summer totals:
🔫 : 4
buyins: $17,800
avg 🔫 : $4,450
$ of 💵 : 0
💵 : 0
profit: -$17,800

set some nodelocks for lonis 95 pay 119 left
KTs 3b bb (1.5x avg) v bt (1.6x avg)

kinda cool experiment, but doesnt account for any fg so is pretty limited. not gonna go super deep into those thoughts rn but have been exploring this and sleeping on it and coming back to it

i gave it the 10bb bc that appears to be the size lonis went but solver actually prefers to mash bigger... 15bb. perhaps it would prefer even larger if i retested with other options.

the lonis spot was bt rfi, bb 3b 10bb

b68 flop
b56 turn
x call vs b35

54s prolly enough SD to x back? he rly knew his customer kek

this was like one third of the nice moreno hands
even though its his sb range and not the BB he still poled out and got the overfold
is kinda telling of the meta in this game flow
i mean moreno takes the overbluff 3 times in a row and gets it thru 3/3 is v sick tournament from him
v wp even though eventual death, it mustve been a satisfying day in the end

moreno line w KJdd was

srp utg v sb

128 left 95 pay

sb donk b25 flop, b30 turn, b100 river

gets the tank fold river even though moreno overbluff

i didn't last long. it was sneaky fast structure.
regged a few hours late and had 30b in a jiffy.
one unlucky hand, one lost flip & i was outta there

🟡 bagged 1.5x avg in 1b of monster stack
kinda like the hamster wheel grind of being able to grind a big stack and jump right back in if you bust. mid stakes grinders should appreciate this more tbh. its kinda annoying bc of the conflicts with the 25ks but still manageable. the field are great in these, i wonder what the roi could be lol
it feels like 1-200% is v v possible. so if u see someone selling mu at like 1.2 for something like the monsterstack its kinda a red flag imo

sometimes the best thing for you to think about before taking a shot is

if not now, then when???

had things brewing for a while. feels weird because i ran pretty well today. was making hands and getting paid.
lost 3 3bp in a row which dented my stack. grinded that pretty hard and then ran into preflop cooler.
after that I fired two bullets in the monster stack. bad news is no bag, but at least now i can fire a mlr in the 6m tm 😀

i got good sleep last night though! when you're down piles u gotta take the small Ws

is 2% deep sleep normal for you?! what sort of hrv do you get?

hm gonna look more into this. i dont actually know, ive noticed this month its been pretty low yeah, like i get sub 10% often.
my hrv is 70ms on the monthly, have no idea what means tho interesting you call it out.

have a feeling maybe my rings tracking is messed up or something

day 12
🔴 out of mlr 25k 6m in 43rd
🔴out of $500 freeezeout

37 pay so busted approaching soft bubble
got in AJo pre for 19bb in a spot maybe i could have rfi decided but was gonna get it in regardless
and the play is wtv

kinda tilt because 40m later im in the 500 freeze out and i see its itm so the stack preservation icm theory thing coming into play a bit. seeing it jam JTs reassured me a bit, i assumed it would be a v narrow jam range that would be used. i wasn't really annoyed at dying this way fwiw but had some sliver of doubts come up of like maybe this was unnecessary spot to take. underlying feeling tho was oh well unlucky try again soon

it sucks to be down so much but gotta keep swimming its a marathon and im still in action n mental is good

zooming out and the picture looks really bleak but its not as bad as it seems
like most of the Ls come from bricking 3 25ks
and i was properly risk managed so personally im still in comfy spot
sucks mentally to know investors are down so much so quickly but its all a part of the game
and im coming into this summer off a huge sun so its all v priced in, not feeling discouraged yet
still feel good ab process
time to come back like wemby down 0-2

drained my gold acct for wsop but i deposited 2k & regged some wpt gold stuff and made two big FTs and cashed for like +30k

nice to get a rebate on the 25k shot i just took, onwards ------------>

sick comeback on the weekend, not to often is the feedback loop immediate for continuing to show up, so taking this W sweetly

Screenshot 2026-06-09 at 1.20.14 AM

took a big shot for my mtt roll
it went as bad as possible, bricked 3 25ks where i only had pieces of myself
but kept grinding normal stakes with 100% of myself
scored nicely in the gold 1k and sunday saver, pretty fun to endure that swing just to see a number that didnt move haha
but its been fun and i wanna keep on going 🔄

i love this armenian reg aren bezhanyan. observed him a lot during my trip to jeju. idrk his background but i assume he's played cash from how he approaches the game. his hendon is mostly in russia and triton stuff. he shows up on time every day from day 1, plays everything and has rly high aggression frequencies.

i saw him spectacularly punt off like 4 huge river XR bluffs.
from what I saw at the table you would've thought he lost 20 buy ins on the series.

but he ends up actually crushing the series playing this style. i appreciate how much self belief his play was exuding. he rly didnt seem shameful at all about his aggressively tragic plays gone wrong. i mention this anecdote bc for me it was one of the biggest takeaways from the trip, it was proof to me that when the going gets tough you must keep on digging.

maybe this is just results oriented, and its not like he crushed bc of those river bluffs, maybe he actually crushed despite them haha
but i still liked the mental game takeaways i got from whatever fantasy i concocted in my head ab his approach

For the 25k's are you generally firing them because it's an enjoyable challenge as opposed to maximizing profit? Or do you feel they are the most profitable option? It just seems like in vegas with so many softer $1500-5ks happening at same time they are probably worth more $ unless you can keep 40-50%+ of yourself in a 25k, but I could see there being a lot of non short term $ benefits to flicking in the 25ks.

i don't think it's the most profitable option at all. i roughly think its mostly for the competition and challenge yes.
i fired jeju because i had a feeling in my bones that my style would do well vs the vips over there. i prepped a lot so i also wanted to test myself yes. and its a lot of fun, you are always playing for big sums of money and thats sick dopamine. surely cash is higher hourly. but if i start to think in this vein i go down the quitting poker rabbit hole lol so i try to not overthink it too much. i was frustrated clicking buttons on polymarket bc i felt emascualted by the fact it felt higher ev than poker so i resonate w this. theres much more extreme examples of this, surely business is higher ev than poker dollar wise.

but ya i think ive been trying to see more of the life and experience ev of hs mtts. other things are fun too, like all the best 25ks in the world happen in sick places in the world, korea, australia, taiwan, vegas, bahamas, etc so you can plan travel around poker. but ya its all massive wear and tear on the body, mind, and wallet. not sure how much juice i got in the tank but just taking things one day at a time and trying to remember to keep on asking myself if im still having fun. it's been fun so far, every day of a 25k you are surrounded by the worlds best players you get to observe court side and all the recs are v v v intersting wealthy people. the interaction of all these things is a really unique experience. sure the flip side is dusting lambos into the abyss while spending 200k a year, but u can risk manage to mitigate some of this and you can always pivot or stop flicking in 25ks if you death run.

your question pts to the roi % vs absolute dollars thing. maybe your roi is 15% in a 10k, but if you have 80% of yourself thats more than you net in soft 1.5k even w fat roi. obv this carries a lot more risk and you can go from thinking you are +15% to -30% on your D game in a tough field but if that happens your perceived roi prolly wasn't real to begin with. a lot of regs maybe cant realize the absolute dollar thing bc they cant afford to make a 25k an 8k for themselves or whatever they need to do to play sustainably in a sensible way. by sensible i mean like keep your common unit sized around 1% or less and keep reassessing as you fire. but ya tbh im by no means optimizing for profits, although i do like to think i keep it in mind haha. im flexible with myself on how i manage the risk. if its a max late reg turbo 25k i might sell 80% and if its 200bb good structure i start on time with a good seat i might take a shot and keep like 80%. from my pov having the flexibility to manage your risk goes a long way so id advise trying to set things up like that. but its all a very personal thing above all else i feel. im sure some of these highrollers have never had more than 50% of a buy in, i used to think that was really gay, i still kinda do, but im learning to respect like u do what u gotta do to be in the game. and when the stakes get to 50ks+ its almost impossible to not play for small pieces

had a spazzy bust out today
went with a sizing read to attack a fish weak sqz size, saw him go bigger size with strong hand earlier, was right on the read but ran into it because it was mw spot and the opener had it...

feels bad bc the losses are starting to grow

but im confident that the process im showing up with is mostly good enough, just need to keep on showing up w sanity, still feel i have a lot of armor left
